☾He promised that he'll take her somewhere, and here they were. A late night drive outside the town, towards the closest hill, to watch the city lights. She wasn't feeling that well because she wanted to dress nicely, in a pretty teal green floral dress, but the way her hip bones and ribs were pointing out, it made her realise she looked like a bag of bones. She ended up dressed as she usually does, oversized high waisted jeans with a hoodie or t-shirt, ''Something wrong?'' of course he knew she wasn't well. Friends around her always failed to notice, yet he noticed it in two weeks of knowing each other. Says a lot about society.
She never opened out about her problems- about how much she despised herself, how ugly she was no matter what she did. How she would be gone soon, no matter what she did. ''I wanted to wear a dress tonight but it was stained so I ended up looking like a potato, again,'' she laughed, leaning on the car as the cold wind gently pushed her hair back.
Smoothly wrapping his flannel around her shoulders, he offered her the strawberry smoothie they bought on their way here, before jumping on the car, feet loosely swinging in the air, ''You look good no matter how you dress,'' he said, nonchalantly humming his favourite song. Quickly taking a look at her, his heart skipped a beat when she saw how ethereal she looked in the moonlight. To him, she was, indeed, an angel. ''I love potatoes,'' he suddenly confessed, jumping off the car, only to turn on the radio, ''and fuck, I think I love you too.'' - but lucky for him, he didn't say the last part loud enough.
Or so he thought.
