She walked through the forest feeling her shadow not far behind. She had always had a shadow, she was born to it. As she came upon the clear of the "Hopeless", she saw something that surprised her. Usually there was nothing there but today a dragon egg sits, right in the center. She stopped walking just before stepping into the clearing and she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, then read the shadows. She took her time as there was no rush. When she was finished she turned around and motioned for her shadow to come close. A large black wolf with killer red eyes (larger than Thranduil's elk) walked to her with its head down low and tail swaying gently. It's coat was a strong contrast to the snow covered ground and tall trees. The girl reaches up, taking the snout of the wolf in between her hands and petting it gently. "Circle the clearing" She whispers to the beast and steps back watching it saunter off. The cloak on the woman covered her face entirely, leaving only imagination to others. As she walked towards the egg she read the ground around it and the warmth that it seemed to be radiating. When she reached it she gently placed her hand on it and felt the tough exterior. Smiling to herself she picked up the egg, even though it was half the size of her, and carried it away from the clearing. Her shadow saw and followed her, surveying the area for danger.

1500 years later

As the woman went on her walk to the clearing she could feel the shift in atmosphere. She told her shadow to stay farther away than usual. As she read the clearing she could feel pounding of hooves not far away, yet when she saw an elk with a broken leg in the clearing she knew what had to be done. The hooves grew closer and she could hear bows being strung. As quickly as she could she raced forward, just as she made it to the elk arrows shot at it. She threw the sides of her cloak over the mammal protecting it from the attack. As if made of rock the cloak shattered each arrow that tried to pierce it. Under the cloak the scared elk was being comforted by the woman's soft words. She was also healing the broken leg. When the arrows stopped and the thundering hooves had to, the woman stepped back quickly, allowing the once injured creature to stand up, though it did not run away. The elves who tried to kill it were confused as to what just happened.

"Who are you?" A loud but silky voice called to the woman. The elk was a bit startled but calmed down as it looked at the cloaked woman. She did not turn only stuck out a hand motioning for the man behind her to come forward. Though he did not know her, he felt compelled and got off his horse. He walked to where the woman and elk stand.

"Look how he concentrates on what is in front of him. Show him you are in front." Her soft almost angelic voice pulled strings in the male elves heart that he did not know existed. His mouth went dry and he could only stare at the shorter being next to him. She could feel his stare and softly giggled before taking his hand from his side and placing it on the elks nose. "He is still young and has much to learn." The wet nose drew the elf from his trance and back to reality.

"My name Thranduil. I am the King of the Elves of the Wood. May I ask your name?" Thranduil said once again looking down to the being.

"Y/N." She responded.

"May I invite you, Y/N, to my kingdom for dinner?" Thradruil asked. Y/N momentarily froze before reaching up and slowly pulling down her hood. Her (h/c) hair flowed out. A simple silver crown circled her head and her pointed ears stuck out a bit. Her skin was pale and almost crystal like. When she looked to Thranduil, he saw her (e/c) eyes and black eyelashes. Her eyebrows were a soft brown and her cheeks were gently dusted pink. "I would enjoy that very much, as long as you take this elk and teach it." Thranduil wasted no time nodding and earning a smile that brightened his world. Y/N bowed and stepped away. "Until dinner, King Thranduil" With that Y/N glided away leaving the king star struck. Thranduil remembered he had been hunting moments ago and turned to his men who were confused on what just happened. He directed them to head back while he rode the elk, with a smile etched on his face.

I wasn't really sure how to end this one.
Should I make a part 2?
