Once when the King Akbar
Met a stranger who wanted to sell
He had fine horses from abroad
Specialities they all seemed to dwell.Akbar took them all from the trader
And gave him silver coins in advance,
As he promised to bring more horses
From Afghanistan and France. After some days out of boredom
Akbar ordered Birbal to list down,
All the foolish people in Agra
As many as he could find around.Birbal prepared a long list
And Akbar was amazed,
To find his name at the top of the list
From his throne he suddenly raised."Do you find me the most foolish?"
Akbar almost thundered,
"Yes My Lord, it is true.
And I did it because you ordered.""You gave a lot of silver
To a man completely unknown,
That proves your foolishness
Please be seated on your throne.""I promise you, Your Majesty!
If that man with horses comes again,
Then I'll erase your name from this
Instead, I'll write the name of the man.The King realised how foolish
He acted with the man back then,
It's true, the man will never return
He must've made Akbar's fun.So that's how 'The Clever Birbal'
Proved himself the smartest of all,
And with his great skills, he won
The hearts of the crowd in the hall._____________________
