Chapter 23

--Silverdust's P.O.V--

Sparrowfeather glared at Bramblesplash, a strange look flared in his eyes.

Uh oh.

With a yowl, Sparrowfeather leapt onto a furious Bramblesplash. They rolled over in a bundle of ginger and brown fur.

"Guys!" I yelled. Or at least, I tried to yell. It came out more of a hoarse squeak. "Stop!" I shakily stood up as Sparrowfeather shoved Bramblesplash out of the medicine den. "Please don't fight over me!" I whimpered/squeaked. Bramblesplash paused, so Sparrowfeather took that as a invitation to swat at Bramblesplash's ears. By then, Frosthaze, Skyflight, Redear, Snowwing and Maplewater had come from the warriors den, looking annoyed at all the noise the fighting toms were making.

"What's going on here?"

That voice froze Sparrowfeather and Bramblesplash. I turned my head and sighed in relief. Ivystar stood in front of me, her gaze cold as she looked at Bramblesplash and Sparrowfeather.

"I said, what is going on here?" Ivystar's voice was deadly soft. I exchanged a glance with Sparrowfeather. His eyes were glazed over with guilt. He looked down at his paws. Bramblesplash did the same.

"No answer?..." Ivystar tilted her head. "Very well. Both of you will be put on apprentice duties for rest of the moon."

Bramblesplash nodded sullenly. Sparrowfeather threw him one last glare before marching over to the warriors den.

"That means sleeping in the apprentice's den." Ivystar called out. Sparrowfeather flattened his eyes and switched directions.

"Oh Sparrowfeather..." I murmured.

Ivystar nodded to Duskwing before turning away, heading back toward her den. Redear and Snowwing headed back into the warriors den as Skyflight, Frosthaze and Maplewater padded over to three motionless bodies.

I turned around to go back into the medicine den to see a pair of familiar amber eyes staring at me. "Hello, Silverdust."

A shudder went through my body as I recognized the voice.

"Oakfang." I shakily said.
