A Sticky Situation

Mina had been sleeping over for the past week, which was completely fine with you. She kept talking you out of driving over to the Miyas' and knocking in Osamu's teeth.

"How can you be so calm about this? I would be throwing hands and dropping his ass, Mina," you rant angrily. "Why are you trying to be so forgiving towards him?"

When she looks at you, your heart drops to your stomach. She has tears in her eyes. "Y/N.. I can't leave him.. I can't."

You kneel down next to her. "Yes, you can, Mina. I know this is your first relationship and it'll be hard, but you can get through it."

She continues sniffling, wiping away her tears. "No, no, I can't. You don't understand, I can't just kick him out of my life. Not now because.."

"What is it? Did he threaten you?"

"NO! Of course not. Osamu's not like that. I'm.. I'm pregnant."

Huh? That was the last thing you thought she would say. For a few moments, you are completely still, your brain trying to process what information you've just been given.

Her tears were flowing by this point and you shake yourself out of your stupor, hugging her close. "Oh, Mina.. are you serious? I'm sorry I didn't know..."

She shook her head. "It's ok, there's no way you could have known. I thought it was a fluke that I skipped me period but then the morning sickness came and I took like 5 pregnancy tests.. which all came out the same. Positive."

Suddenly, you are furious. Your face got red with anger. How dare he touch her? How dare he f*cking do this to her, your best friend. "I will.. KILL THAT BITCH."

"Y/N, no-" but you don't hear the end of the sentence because you storm out of your apartment, grabbing your keys.

Angrily pressing the elevator button, it can't take you down faster. When it finally brings you to the lobby, you sprint to your car, key it and rev the engine, speeding out the parking lot. When I get my fcking hands on him, he'll wish he'd never been born.

You pull up to the school gym, parking in handicap because you didn't give a sh*t.

Running inside, adrenaline and hate pumping in your veins, you scan for a head of silver dyed hair. Scan, scan.. there he is. His back is turned towards you while he sets to Gin. Without a second thought, you scream and sprint towards him like a maniac. The whole gym freezes and Osamu turns just in time to face you before you tackle him to the ground with a WHACK!

You lunge at his face, saying through your teeth, "I- will.. f*UCKING- END- YOU!" You got in a good 5 punches before a pair of arms grabs you forcefully and lifts you off of him.

"Y/N, what are you DOING?" Kita had been the one to pull you off but Coach was the one speaking.

"I won't stand for this irresponsible, mysogynistic pig! I won't do it!" you scream, huffing and puffing from the extreme physical exertion.

Osamu wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, and it shows red with his blood. "If this is about me cheating on Mina-"

You let out a cackle. "No, it's not just about that. It's about that freaking human growing inside Mina that you put in her."

At that, he freezes. He doesn't say anything for a second and then replies, "What? She's.. pregnant?

Silence. No one moves or says anything, their faces still with shock.

Behind you, you hear Kita tell Coach, "Coach, we should end early today. Let me to try to handle them."

Coach replies, "You sure you don't need an adult to mediate this? It seems serious."

Kita shakes his head and says, "No, I think it'll be better if I do."

Continuing to stare down Osamu, you say, "Really? You gonna play the 'Oh, I had no idea' card?? You didn't realize your girlfriend was acting strangely and sleeping at my place 'cause her own parents kicked her out?"

"Y/N!" Kita's stern voice makes you freeze in place. Your hands ball into fists at your sides.

"Everyone, clean up and go home. We're going to end it here today." No one misses a beat and starts to do as he says. While they're busy, Kita takes you by the arm, his grip firm, and leads you outside and to the clubroom. You go in first then him, and he locks it behind him.

Waiting for him to reprimand you, you cross your arms and look to the side, not wanting to meet his eyes directly.

"What was that all about?" his voice much gentler than it was in the gym. "You're usually rational in these kinds of situations."

These kinds of situations. "This is not just some other kind of situation. This is so serious. Mina is pregnant. She's barely 16 and homeless now and it's all because of that prick. She can barely take care of herself so how the hell is she supposed to take care of another tiny human too?" At this point, your vision is blurred by tears threatening to spill over.

He opens his arms to embrace you, which you try to fight at first, but you give in to his persistence. running his hands through your hair, he says, "I understand you're upset for Mina. It's completely justifiable. Has she thought of her options?"

"What, you mean abortion? She's not that kind of person. She's gonna want to keep it," you reply. Kita takes in a deep breath, slowly letting it out.

"Okay. Then this will have to be something she and Osamu figure out. And since she's staying with you, you're caught in the middle of it. You'll have to forgive Osamu for his wrongdoing, or at the least be able to tolerate him, if you want to continue to support her," Kita says calmly.

You grunt in frustration, knowing he was right. "I know.. but that doesn't make me not want to knock out a few of his teeth."

He smiles at you. "I've witnessed you can really pack a punch. But please don't incapacitate my teammate. We have a game this weekend."

You start laughing and you rest your head against his shoulder. He kisses the top of your head as you both continue to sit there on the clubroom floor.
