Playing at your own game

"I don't know why you're worrying Phil, you're better than this." Dan sighed, rubbing the back of his neck harshly, the sound of scratching filling the room. I groaned, running my hands through my hair, pushing it further under my beanie.

"How dare he though? After all the shit he's caused anyway, he has the nerve to come onto my turf, my territory and try to turn the course of nature! I don't think so!" I subsequently yelled, letting my anger roll out and into the air, the whole situation mocking my very existence.

"He's playing you at your own game, I don't know why you're worrying. You're better than him and you know it." Dan comforted, sitting down next to me and rubbing my back. I sighed, leaning into him and resting my head heavily on his shoulder, pouting. The community was my thing, my ground. People would walk carefully because they knew how protective I was about.

Now he was here and it made things a lot different. He didn't care, he didn't care about anything.

"You know what? You're right. This is my ground. I shouldn't be scared of him, he's manipulating me again. I am better than him." I sat up, staring at Dan with a concentrated look on my face. Dan nodded back, smiling slightly as a light chuckle left his lips. I then laughed too, kissing him softly on the lips before getting up.

"You go Phil." Dan laughed, causing me to laugh with him, fist pumping the air.

"Let's go Daniel!"

Very sorry about this.
It's strange I know, I have no idea why I wrote this tbh.
