I look up from my book when I hear knocking at my door.

"Darling? I'm here with your guest."

I gasp and run to the door to open it.

Mama gives a small thanks before leading a boy in behind her.

I greet Mama with a hug and sit down on the bed, wrapping the blanket Mama gave me around myself.

"Y/n, this is Ray. He's your age. Ray, this is Y/n."

I wave at him, before turning to Mama.

"Is Timmy playing already?"

Mama nods.

I smile at Ray, and he tilts his head a bit.

"That means you can sit with me! Timmy doesn't like it when people sit beside me."

Ray nods and my energy dims a bit as he comes to sit next to me on the bed, the book he held in his hands now laying on his lap.

Mama claps her hands, bringing my attention back to her for a moment.

"Alright, I'll leave you two to get acquainted! Y/n, if you need anything, you know to press the button and ring me."

"Okay, Mama. Bye, Mama." I say as she walks out, while Ray waves.

I watch her as she closes the door behind herself, and when I turn back to Ray, he's looking at me.

I didn't realize I had patted his cheek until he flushed and brought his book up to his faces.

I laugh, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize I did that."

"It's okay." He mutters.

I smile at him, then turn my attention back to my book, and when I peak at him, he's reading his own.

The next time I come back to reality, we're both at the head of my bed and resting against each other.

I start humming and Ray looks down at me.

"Where did you hear that?"

I continue humming for a bit, before jolting aware.

"Oh. Mama hums it to me all the time, do you like it?"

When he doesn't answer, I go back to humming and reading.

I'm only a little aware when he answers.

"Yeah. It's soothing."
