Stefan's POV

When I walked in, Damon was standing by a shaken Caroline. The New vampire was taking a sip of bourbon, most likely supplied by Damon.

"What happened?" I asked them, worried a little.

"Go ahead, tell him. You're gonna love this," Damon told me and Caroline.

"I saw Katherine today," the blonde girl told me.

"Where?" I asked her, trying to figure out what was happening.

"At the grill. I just stopped by to gawk and quasi-stalk Matt. He asked me if I wanted a table, so I told him that I wasn't going to stay, just use the bathroom," Caroline informed me.

"Skip the teen drama. Get to it," Damon ordered.

"Then I had to pretend to use the bathroom even though I didn't really have to go, because I'm a doofus. I thought I saw Elena, so I greeted her. She asked if I was okay because she saw me with Matt. I said I was and then realised it wasn't Elena. I tried to vamp speed out of the bathroom, but Katherine blocked my way out. Then she said she needed my to deliver a message," Caroline explained the events from her day.

"What was the message?" I asked her, curious.

"To tell you two that she want the moonstone or she will rip this town apart until it rains blood," Caroline started.

"Tell him the rest of it," Damon encouraged.

"Tonight at the Masquerade ball," Caroline finished.

"She wants to do it in public. Killing Mason threw her off guard," I said.

"She's running scared. What she did to Jenna was desperate," Damon stated

"We can't underestimate her. We have to play this smarter than her," I started to explain, figuring out that we could have an upper hand.

"Can't we just give her the stone?" Caroline asked us.

"No. Katherine's not getting shit. I've had it. I'm gonna go to the ball and I'm gonna kill her," Damon stated.

"You're not gonna kill her," I told him, leading somewhere.

"Don't give me that," Damon scoffed.

"You're not gonna kill her," I repeated.

"Oh, really?" Damon asked, unconvinced that I would stop him.

"Because I am. And, I think we could have an advantage here," I told them.

"What advantage?" Caroline questioned.

"A person she would never expect," I stated. Damon's eyes widened when he realised who I was talking about.

"You're not talking about..." Damon started.

"Yes, Damon. I say, we call Ryan," I suggested.

"Who's Ryan?" Caroline asked, oblivious.

"Someone who Katherine would never expect to be in Mystic Falls again," I started, letting Damon finish.

"And, our brother," Damon finished. Caroline's eyes widened in shock.
