Ryan's POV

It was the next day. I was in my room, sitting by my desk. I was sketching Klaus in my sketchbook. I was drawing him as half his face, whilst the other half was a wolf. It looked good in my opinion.

I still hadn't heard from Klaus. It was stupid really. All I wanted to do was at least hear his voice. I knew it was wrong, but I didn't care. I had finally accepted the fact that I liked Klaus in a more than friendly way. Even though he probably wants to kill everyone I'm friends with.

I heard some talking from downstairs. It was distracting me as my thoughts drifted to what was happening, who was talking, and what they were talking about. I opened a drawer in my desk and took out a pair of wired in-ear headphones. I plugged them into my phone and shuffled "Ryan's Playlist".

I bobbed my head to the beat of the song, whilst I continued to sketch. I made sure to catch every detail of Klaus' face, and every hair of fur of the wolf's. I made their eyes hold the feeling of being lost, considering that's what he must've felt like without his other half.

A couple of minutes later, I heard some metal clanging and the curious aspect of my personality kicked in. I took out my headphones, stood up, and exited my room. I headed downstairs, wanting to see what was actually happening.

When I heard Damon screaming, I vampire sped downstairs into the living room. Damon was chained to a chair, daylight ring off, curtain opened, burning him. I ran over and closed the curtains before turning to Damon, who looked at me in return.

"I want to know, but I really don't, do I?" I spoke up.

"What?" Damon asked me, clearly confused on what I was saying.

"I'll take that as a no," I stated, before going around to the back of his chair, and undoing the chains that held him to the chair.

"Thank you," Damon thanked me, taking deep breaths of relief.

"Don't thank me. Just try not to get into this situation again," I told him, before going back upstairs to finish my drawing.

...

I just remembered that it was the Night of Illumination. I really didn't want to go out. I really didn't, with all my heart. But to my luck, Damon dragged me out. According to him, he had to talk with Bonnie about something or other. I wasn't really listening.

I was in the back seat of Damon's car. I didn't want to be in the front seat. I barely even wanted to be in the car with him. I had started an old habit, one that I had when I was human. Smoking. What can I say? Unfortunately, I couldn't carry a bottle of bourbon everywhere I went. It was the next best thing.

Damon pulled up to the side of the road, where Caroline and Bonnie were helping putting up decorations. Quickly, I put out my cigarette, and waved all the smoke away. I didn't want Caroline to know I smoked. She was like a little sister to me.

"Greetings, blondie, witchy," Damon greeted the two girls who then started to walk towards the car. They were focusing solely on Damon, meaning they hadn't seen me yet.

"I think you got your voodoo wires all crossed when you got rid of Vicki Donovan," Damon directed this towards Bonnie. I looked at him confused.

"What do you mean? Why?" Bonnie questioned. The girls were still looking at Damon.

"Because I'm pretty sure...I just got spit-roasted by Mason Lockwood's ghost," Damon informed them. Since no one was paying attention to me, I leant down and lit another cigarette.

"What?" Bonnie confusedly stated, clearly suprised and shocked.

"Why would you think that?" Caroline queried, getting involved with their conversation.
