3rd Person POV

Bulgaria, 1490

A girl was yelling. She was in pain. They were speaking in Bulgarian.

"A little more, dearest...a little more. Push a little more," One woman spoke. She had her hands on the girl's knees. The woman kept repeating for the girl to keep pushing and that it was just a little more.

Suddenly, the room was no longer filled with the girl's shouts of pain. Instead, it was filled with a sound that sounded like music to the people in the room's ears. It was the sound of a baby crying. The woman took the baby, which had just come from the girl.

"It's a girl," the woman informed, with a smile on her face.

"A girl," the girl repeated.

"Please, mother. Let me see her," the girl begged. A man was watching the interaction from the hallway.

"Woman, don't!" The man ordered. The woman bought the still crying baby over to the man, while the girl started to cry.

"Let me at least hold her once...just once," the girl begged. She was exhausted, but filled with grief.

"Forget it, you have disgraced this family!" The man announced, walking out of the room with the girl's daughter in his hands.

"Father, please! No, Father...no! No!" The girl yelled, starring to get out of the bed, but being held back by her mother.

"No, Katerina. It's better for her!" The woman claimed. The girl, Katerina, cried into her mother's shoulder. She was filled with guilt, grief and sadness.

Present Day

Damon's POV

I heard knocking on the door. I walked towards it, and opened the door. Standing there was Elena Gilbert. Katherine's doppelgänger and my youngest brother's love. A girl who I also may or may not like.

"Hello, Elena," I greeted her, smiling slightly instead of my classic smirk.

"Stefan here? He called. Said it was important," Elena told me.

"Right this way," I directed her, opening the door wider. She stepped inside and I closed the door behind her.

"Hey," Stefan greeted the Gilbert girl.

"What is this about?" Elena questioned him. I guessed that was when Rose revealed herself, because Elena looked shocked. At that moment, Ryan walked down. Surprisingly, he was right on time.

Ryan's POV

I walked downstairs, biting into a red apple. My two brothers and Elena, Katherine's doppelgänger, were standing in the hallway, near the front door. When I got to the bottom, I saw what, or rather who, Elena's shocked face was about.

"You," Elena stated, barely a whisper.

"Her," I commented, wanting to be involved with the conversation. Of course, I already knew Rose was there. My brothers had told me before the Gilbert had even been called.

...

We all went into the living room. I was laying back on the couch, scrolling through Pinterest on my phone.

"Okay, I only know what I've picked up over the years. And I don't know what's true and what's not true," Rose started. I guessed she was talking about the Originals and the curse. At least, that's what I thought since I didn't exactly pay attention to the scene happening infront of me.

Rose was pacing a little, infront of the fireplace, whilst my brothers were sitting down near her, one on each side. Elena was sitting on the couch next to me. Unlike me, Elena was sitting up straight and paying full attention to the conversation infront of us.
