The game was at it's height. Cheers and screams raining down from the stands onto the players below. All ignoring them in the as they were well into the zone, too busy trying to score or make the other team not score to notice.

A ball of black and white soared through the air.

It hit the ground hard, rolling and slowing until a leg struck out. Dribbling the ball between their feet, the player who caught it raced on.

They were racing for the opposite goal, with ten seconds on the clock, and with a mighty kick, sent the ball soaring.

Standing in front of the goal, the goalie, and one very familiar.

His brown, short hair bouncing as he hopped foot to foot, green eyes lit like tiny flames, and a familiar smirk that both drove me insane at times and made me want to smile as well.

I called out his name, "Ben! You got this!"

My powers flared beneath my skin from the second hand rush. Pumping my fist to at least dispel some of it, I continued on my cheering as Ben took over the pack of soccer players.

He seemed to have heard my call, surprisingly, tilting his head back just enough to spot me even amongst the crowd. He smiled, big and broad, then turned back to the field with renewed vigor.

Down to the last second, right before the soccer ball could make it in, Ben reached out and caught it.

The crowd ran wild. Cheers and boos mixing into one mess of a noise. Ben's team rushing to lift him up in celebration. And I tried my best to cheer louder than anyone, leaping in my spot on the stands, throwing my arms up.

"That's it, Ben! Way to win!" I laughed.

I mean, after all the battles we face, he should be able to win one measly soccer match. A voice in my head grumbled.

(Name), we talked about this. If you want to watch the games, don't make comments like that! You know Ben and I left that behind last summer. I sighed, landing on my feet and huffing.

But-

No buts.

You know you miss that life is all I'm saying.

I know.

I didn't get time to dwell on my wants, as a gentle tap on my shoulder had me whirling around in a rush. My hands were already flying up to defend myself, but dropped just as fast as a girl in a pink hoodie smiled nervously back.

"Oh! H...hi?"

"Hey," She greet back just as nervously. "I just wanted to ask if you were friends with the goalie? On the green team?" She darted a glance down at the dispersing team, and the crowd around us was already starting to thin.

A flare of jealousy had me gritting my teeth, but I shook it off just as quick. It wasn't like Ben and I are dating. "Yeah, he's my closest friend." I returned the smile.

Her round, brown eyes widened even more in surprise. "Oh! Uh, well...I wanted to meet him is all. Congratulate him on the game. If that's okay?"

"Yeah, that's more than okay. Let's just wait on the crowd to die down though." I laughed, already heading down the bleachers.

The girl in pink followed, looking more relaxed now.

"By the way, names (Y/n), and you?"

"Julie. I'm new to town."

"Well nice to meet you, Julie." I tried my best to keep the conversation flowing, asking about interests, apparently she was a tennis player, and other such things, but that quickly dried up when my likes weren't exactly lining up with hers, mainly my love of video games.
