"Uh, no." Kevin spat while washing the same spot on his cars hood for the third time tonight, "Or let me put it another way, no." he growled, lifting up the rag to peak at the hood, before getting back to work on the spot.

The car wash's lights doing little to help with whatever he was seeing, unless he was seeing nothing and just being a manic cleaner.

I wouldn't put it past him, with his obsession with his car. So, I stayed leaning against the side, trying to see how long it would take for him to notice I was dirtying his ride. Ben at my side didn't though, keeping a few inches between the car and himself. A tactic to try and get Kevin to fold for the favor he was asking him.

"Come on Kevin, he's my cousin. He was supposed to be home from college two days ago."

"And you want me to waste my time, driving my car, looking for your cousin?" Kevin shot back.

"Or you could sit here cleaning a stain that doesn't exist to look busy all night." I shrugged as I tossed my words out.

Kevin shot a glare my way, edging closer just to push me off the green car. "Yeah, because you infected it with whatever you tracked in, what was it, a pain in my butt onto the entirety of my ride. Someone has to clean it off."

I stuck my tongue out, folding my arms over my chest.

He rolled his eyes, getting back to work.

"Ignoring (Y/n)," Ben coughed and avoided my glare as he continued, "I know how it sounds. The police said to wait. I'm sure he's fine. We just don't know where he is."

"Daytona Beach or Fort Lauderdale." Kevin suggested. "He's a college student."

"No." Ben rejected the idea. "He called from the road and said his car broke down in some town called Santa Mira. We haven't heard anything since. His folks are worried." He leaned over, trying to catch Kevin's eye.

From over the hood, I noticed Gwen stalking closer. Her gaze downcast almost shielded by her long red hair, and arms folded over her chest and hugging her arms tightly. She was truly worried about her older brother, which I had only met a handful of times, and it was getting to her.

The entire reason Ben and I had decided to try and convince Kevin to take us around searching for Ken in the first place.

Gwen stood a few feet from the car, refusing to get closer as she listened to Kevin continuous denial.

The black-haired idiot moved to the opposite side of the hood to avoid Ben's searching gaze, continuing to rub down the thing. "And I'm supposed to care why?"

"Because he's my brother." Gwen finally spoke up.

Kevin's head snapped up instantly, focusing in on Gwen. With a sharp bite to his words, he ordered, "Get in."

All four of us piled into the car, and in a record breaking speed, was peeling out of the car wash and hitting the road. Though not before Kevin threw the rag back, hitting Ben in the face. He sputtered, tossing it to the floor of the car and glaring at the back of his head.

"You are so lucky you're behind the wheel." Ben growled.

"Yeah, sure whatever you say Tennyson." Kevin shot back.

Gwen interrupted, smiling sweetly from the passenger seat as Ben flopped back in his spot with a grumble and I hid my laugh behind my hand, "You're really sweet to do this. Ken is-"

Kevin spout out a pearl of laughter at the name. His smile refuse to drop even though Ben and Gwen were shooting glares his way, or at least Ben was, Gwen just looked tired. "What? Ken? Your brother's name is Ken? Gwen and Ken Tennyson? What's your folks' name, Sven and Jen? I'm talking to you, Ben." Kevin shot a smirk back his way.
