Baekhyun's POV

This wasn't real.

Nothing that just happened was real. It couldn't be.

The love of his life did not just walk out the door and leave him.

He stares numbly at the door like you're going to magically come back through it any second, but the longer he stares, the more he can't deny what just happened.

He starts for the door but stops. He had no idea what to do right now because the two of you never fought. Does he go after you? Is he supposed to give you space?

He sinks to the floor in between the couch and the coffee table, completely ignoring the shards of glass from the cup you broke. He didn't even feel the little pieces cutting into his knees. To be honest, he wishes he could. It would allow him to think about anything else besides the panic and pain he was feeling in his chest.

He fucked up. He fucked up so badly. He knew he shouldn't have let Maya come into the apartment, but he was so surprised by her sudden appearance that she was already walking past him before he realized it.

He should've kicked her out. Those fucking reports could've waited. Why she felt like they needed to be done as soon as possible was beyond him, and he should've told her that.

He slams his fist into the couch in anger. He knew he made some mistakes. Knew you wouldn't cuss out Maya unless she gave you a reason to. Knew she was too touchy-feely of a person. Knew you found them in a horrific position when you walked in, but nothing was going on with her.

He honestly didn't even remember falling asleep, and there is no possible way on this earth he would allow Maya to use him as a pillow, but somehow that's exactly what happened. He knew this was just the tip of the iceberg as well.

He's been so caught up with working on the line and trying to balance it with his job as a member of EXO that he's hardly been home to see you in weeks. He's been neglecting you and your relationship, and it was stupid for him to assume you were rock solid. That nothing could come between the two of you and that you both knew this was it. You were each other's. He was so stupid to think you knew all of this without him having to tell you. He never meant for this relationship to fall apart. He never meant for you to feel this way.

He loves you more than anything, and the absolute last thing he wants is to lose you. He refused to accept the breakup... You just need a little space right now... He nods to himself. He'd give you space, and then he'd show you how much you mean to him. Prove to you that he is still worthy of you.

Maya was nothing but a friend. A business partner. She wasn't you. She would never be you. He needed to show you that he meant that...

He glances down at his watch. 11:35 pm... He would give you the rest of the night to get your thoughts and feelings together because tomorrow he was going to fight to bring you back to him.

A couple hours pass without him noticing it. He just sits on the couch and blankly stares at things in the apartment as he runs everything through his mind. When his phone rings and breaks the silence, he jumps. First, startled by the sound, but then at the thought that it could be you.

He quickly grabs the phone in excitement, but when he sees Maya's name, it immediately fades. Bringing the phone up to his ear, he answers with a dull voice.

"Hey, Maya."

"Hey, Baek! Is everything okay?"

He lets out a small laugh. "Not even remotely."

"What happened?"

Baekhyun pauses for a moment. He definitely shouldn't tell her anything about his relationship. It wasn't any of her business, but Baekhyun needed to talk things out with someone, and he quite literally had no one else...
