It's been a week since Max got lost in the hallway. She had been hanging out with Mike a lot lately. He was really sweet and careful with her. El sat next to her on the couch, handing her hot chocolate.
"Thank you."
The brunette nodded, kissing the top of her head. She played with her girlfriends firey hair. Max sighed happily, leaning into El and drinking her warm hot chocolate. "Hey! We were thinking of going to a party tonight," Robin said as she sat next to Max.
"Robin I told-"
"I hear nothing you say little Stevie. Who's up for some fun tonight?"
"Yeah sure, why the fuck not?"

Max was in her dorm room, one that she shared with Robin. "Hey little red! You excited?"
She shook her head, sitting on the bed. Robin frowned and sat next to her, "what's wrong?"
"Nothing, just- it's nothing, I'm fine."
"Hey, Max, I'm here for you. Just like I was all those years ago." The blonde put a comforting hand on Max's shoulder.
"I don't think El likes me anymore."
"Are you crazy or something? That girl is head over heels for you! She's so in love with you, Max."
"But she found a whole new girl who's skinny and pretty and-"
"She isn't you Max!"
"But she's better."
"Hey, look at me. No one, and I mean no one could live up to you. If El can't see that then it's her fault. Okay?"
"Okay."
"Now let's get ready to go to a party!"

Max's jaw dropped when she saw who was standing next to El in the lobby. Beverly fucking Marsh. Max looked over at Robin, tears pooling in her eyes. Why did El invite her? Did she do something wrong? Was El punishing her? "Okay, oh we have someone new!"
"Yeah, this is my roommate Beverly. Her boyfriend just broke up with her so I wanted to take her out to help get her mind off of it!"
Take her out?

They arrived at the party, Max and Robin immediately going to the alcohol. El followed, Bev close behind. Max rolled her eyes at the other ginger as she poured a cup of obviously spiked punch. El put a hand on her arm, stopping her from drinking. "Max, we're not old enough."
"So what? This is what we came here for isn't it?" She sassed taking a big sip. She walked away, hitting her shoulder in the process. Robin smirked, walking away after her. El stared in disbelief. "Hey, are you two dating?" The brunette turned to the ginger. She just stood there, words not being able to form in her mouth. "Hey, why don't we get some punch?"

"Max! Could you go get El and her friend please? These boys look like they're ready to pass out." Max was watching Dustin and Lucas fighting. She was giggling drunkenly. Steve snapped his fingers in her face. She looked at him, blinking silently. "I asked if you could go get El?"
The ginger smiled at the thought her girlfriend and nodded. She skipped over to where she had last left her girlfriend. The smile on her face fell and her heart dropped all the way down to her toes. Tears pricked in her eyes as she brought a shaky hand up to her mouth. She was paler than usual and she could feel sweat at the back of her neck. All the alcohol seemed to leave her body as the image was burned into her mind.
There was El, sitting on the couch with Beverly on her lap. The two girls were making out. She put a hand on her stomach as she started to sob loudly. Everyone stared at her as if she was crazy. El immediately pulled away and looked at her girlfriend, gasping when she realized what she had done. "Max..."
Max ran away, sobs taking over her body. She ran into Mike's arms, crying into his chest. He led her out of the house; glaring at El the whole time.
