CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

NAINA

I couldn't believe that Sameer had planned this surprise for me. I was missing my parents terribly especially when I wasn't well. I remembered how my mother used to take care of me when I was sick & how my father would pamper me throughout. But after seeing them on the door today morning, my happiness knew no bounds. Just the previous night, I was all sad that I wasn't able talk to them & the next morning I had got the biggest surprise.

Sameer had helped me in declaring our love to my parents, when he saw me stuttering & feeling nervous. He was always by my side whenever I needed. I thought about what he had said to me yesterday. He was right I always tried to save relations even if I wasn't at fault & had to say sorry first. But the way he had defended me in front of our friends, had rendered me speechless. No one had done this for me.

When he declared our relationship in front of my parents, I knew he would always be my side whenever I would falter. And now it was my turn to give it back. He wanted me to be strong & I would be just that. He wanted that I should never apologize to people without my fault & I would exactly do that too. I would be exactly what he wanted me to be.

I always heard people saying that we should never change for anyone. But I would change for my Sameer. The changes that he wants me to accept are for my benefit too. I've always been my father's princess but now it was time to be my Sameer's Queen.

After he left to attend the meeting, I spent some time with my parents & then helped Vishakha Maa in the kitchen. We all were waiting for Sameer to come soon so that we could start the lunch. The doorbell rang & I saw Swati & Preeti smiling at me. They came inside & then I introduced them to my parents.

"Naina... We're really sorry. Kal jo bhi hua uske liye. Hum bhi naa kabhi kabhi aise stupid behave karte hai. Please hume maaf karde aur please uss hitler se bhi bachaa lena. Pataa nahi hume yahaan dekhkar kaise react karega." Before I could say anything, Maa asked, "Aisa kya hua ki tum Naina se maafi maang rahe ho aur mere Sameer ko Hitler kyun keh rahi ho tum?"

Swati narrated the entire episode that happened yesterday to all about the office rumors & how Sameer tackled the three women. She also told them how he scolded them all & stood by my side. I could see the surprised faces of everyone. Nanu asked me, "Yeh sab Sameer ne kahaa, tumhare liye?" I just nodded in answer. "Waahhhh... Mere sher ne mujhe aaj bohot khushi di hai. Naina beta. Aaj mere Sameer ne mera sar garv se ooncha kar diya. Aur main bohot khush hun ki wohh tumse itna pyaar karta hai. Thank you, Naina beta, mere Sameer ke zindagi mein aane ke liye. Aaj usne saabit kar diya ki woh tumhari hamesha raksha karega, hamesha har mushkil mein tumhare saath khada rahega aur hamesha tumse pyaar karega."

"Nanaji aap sahi keh rahe hai. Sameer jis tarah Naina ko protect karta hai, wohh taarif ke kaabil hai. Humne kabhi usse aise kisiko protect karte hue nahi dekha. Aur hum khush hai ki Naina ki wajah se aaj hume hamara purana Sameer waapis mil gaya. Par ek baat toh hai ki wohh abhi bhi Hitler hi hai. Kaise daant lagaa raha tha hume kal. Maaf bhi nahi kiya usne.", Swati said with a pout.
