God Vs Heroes (BNHA x Death Note)

Adjusting to Change

Light Yagami.

The young man could see nothing. Slowly, vision returned from his eyes. He looked up, and froze for a short moment.

"Who- what are you?"

A giant mass hung over him. Chains protruded from its body, attaching to the ceiling above. The thing held a Death Note in one of its many hands. A skull within another skull smiled down on him.

Consider me impressed. Now I understand why Ryuk would drop his Death Note.

"You- you must be the Shinigami King."

Indeed.

"Don't ever dream of going to heaven or hell, huh?"

That was a lie from Ryuk. There is no heaven or hell. At least, not in this universe. All humans are equal in death. Besides those who have our notebooks.

"I had my suspicions that this would happen. Well, your majesty, if you'll hear me out, I have a deal for you. One god to another."

Oh?

...

"Are you alright, Light?"

"Hm?"

Light opened his eyes. His face was shoved into a pile of papers.
That's right. It had been a few days since the break-in. He had been busy since then.

"I must have dozed off."

He turned to face the person who had stirred him awake. It was that girl was the ponytail...

"Yaomomo, right?"

"Oh no, that's just a nickname. My name is Yaoyorozu."

"Sorry, I'm not the best with names. I'll try to keep that in mind." That was a lie. He had memorized all their names.

"Are you studying for exam? You seem to be overdoing it."

"Not that. I'm trying to figure out what's going on with the Kira case...
Say, you were the smartest in the class, according to the midterm. Can I get some input?"

"Huh? Sure, I'll try to help."

"Listen to this here." He pressed play on some news video.

"A series of puzzling deaths have occurred in Russia and Europe over the past several days and show no sign of abating. The victims all share suicidal tendencies."

"These resemble the Kira murders from before, but targeting suicidal people. This is obviously a new Kira at play. However, I don't know how he got the power, or where he is."

Some other students began to gather to listen to Light's monologue. Kaminari and Mina got their attention on him.

"Reminds me of Midoriya's mutterings..." Chargebolt snorted.

"I don't think there's anything even I could do to help..." Momo was overwhelmed.

"Say, big guy, that sounds like kind of a big conclusion. How'd you figure that out?"

Light did not hesitate.

"First of all, these kills are extremely out of character with the Kira that we know. The primary locations of the kills are also far away."

He pulled out a map out of his notes. There was two large circles, with lots of dots drawn everywhere.

"The first Kira, he mainly kills within Japan, though we know that the range of his power is unlimited, due to kills occurring in other nations. All of these were targeting criminals. So it's likely that Kira is Japanese."

He pointed to the second circle.

"These new deaths, however, have been primarily been occurring around Europe and Russia. This new Kira is worse than the first. Just a copycat. Let's call him C-Kira."

"My primary worry is how many Kiras we're dealing with. Kira has been around for about a month before this new one showed up."

The crowd was silent in awe. Light ignored them as he continued to write notes.

"Who even is this guy? Are you sure he's quirkless and doesn't have some sort of super intelligence quirk?"

"Could this be caused by All For One?"

"No. I am positive All For One hasn't interacted with Kira."

"How could you even know that?"

"There's no way that he could have not only broken out of Tartarus undetected, but leave the nation. And than grant the power to someone else. And his quirk requires that he steal the quirk from the original. I honestly think that if All For One came into contact with Kira, he would die."

"Seriously? Is this villain that strong?"

"His power may be the deadliest in history."

"So how can there be two?"

"Good question." Light turned his head to stare at the wall. He looked pissed at it.

"I just wish I could see what the agency working on Kira had come up with."

"Who knows, if we're lucky, we could work with them."

"What."

Light turned to face Kaminari.

"I mean, we did work with the big time heroes in the past. We helped in the Overhaul case. We were pretty cool out there."

Kaminari, you wonderful idiot.

"You're right. In fact, I'm going to submit this as a tip to the police. Maybe the heroes will notice and work with me. And then we will catch Kira."

"Dude, I appreciate you having big dreams, but this might be a bit over the top."

"No, don't discourage him."

Izuku Midoriya stepped up. He had been quiet since the incident with the intruder. Everyone knew he had felt guilty. But the conversation must have gotten his attention.

"We're with you all the way. At least, I am."

"Yeah, me too!" The gravity girl joined in. Others nodded and began to join in. Where'd they all come from?

"Alright, I get the idea! Don't need to be so dramatic. I'm going to bed."

"Uh-" The mood died fast. Light got up and started to head to the hallway.

"Goodnight, I guess." Uraraka laughed nervously.

"When you're not busy, let's do a get-together and watch the movie!"

"Take care of yourself! Overdoing things isn't going to do you good. Trust me on this one."

Light laughed at the last one. He turned back, and looked at his new friends. He offered them a small and genuine smile.

"But I do appreciate the support."

He pressed the button, and the door closed. He closed his eyes and awaited the taunts from the god of death.

"Wow, you sure are keen on catching Kira, huh?" The shinigami laughed.

"I don't need this right now, Ryun. I already know what to do. I've decided to arrange our class to meet with the hero agency assigned to take down Kira."

'And how will you do that?"

"I've got some people to talk to. It's not ideal, but I will make the best of it."

Maybe once I finish the story, I'll make some illustrations. It seems like a fun idea.
