Ana's POV

If this was how my Senior year was going to start off then I did not want to go through the rest of the day. I could not believe that Luke Hemmings was in the same class as I was. I mean I knew that he wasn't dumb or anything, but the classes I did have with him my previous years I had Calum or Michael to distract me. Why couldn't one of them be here with me now? I frequently asked myself the question at the beginning of the class. Mrs. Hemmings took her time with attendance the first day which I guess a lot of kids were grateful for, but I was not. It gave me more time to catch myself glancing at Luke. "Luke Hemmings?" she called. I involuntarily looked back. The blond boy lifted his head. "Really mom? I rode here with you." He put his head back down. "Lucas, why are you sitting in the back? You know you have trouble seeing the board sometimes. Why don't you come up her and sit next to my desk so you can see better." The class snickered and Luke's head snapped up. "Seriously? Mom please." He slammed his head into his palms and Mrs Hemmings opened her mouth to speak the thought better of it. Poor Luke. I was really grateful when Mrs. Hemmings started her first lesson. The lesson was simple because it was the first day of school however some kids seemed to be struggling. I finished the assignment with a few minutes to spare. I glanced behind me as I noticed that Luke had finished early too and was jotting some things in a notebook. I recognized the notebook as the one he had with him at the band hall earlier that day. I shook my head as I stared at the whiteboard so I could envision what tryouts for captain were going to be like. Calum and I had this deal that when we were both Seniors we would both tryout for our respective captain positions. I was so nervous and anxious for this afternoon that I didn't notice I was biting down on my lip. I heard the bell ring and immediately I jumped up with my bags to head out the door to my locker. I let out a deep breath as I walk to my locker. "Ana!" I hear a familiar voice come from beside me. I jumped a bit then relax as I see Calum beside my locker door. "Hey Cal! You nearly gave me a heart attack! Don't do that again!" I tell him as I push at his side playfully. "Um I waved at you and everything, but it looks like you were distracted by something. How did your first class go?" He asked with a hint of curiousity in his voice. "It went fine Calum. I am just stressed about soccer tryouts ok? I REALLY want to make captain since it is our last year here and have a chance of getting a scholarship to play somewhere..." I finished in a somewhat convincing tone, but Calum knew me better than that..."Ana I know that it not what is going on here. You and I have been preparing for these tryouts the whole summer and we know that you have got this in the bag. Plus you were being scouted last year. You know someone is bound to ask you to sign for them. So tell me exactly what went on in Calculus." I looked at him with a defeated demeanor on my face. I knew there was no way I was getting out of telling Calum that Luke was in my class. "I saw Luke in class today...and I just can't help myself to not look at him...this sucks not having you or Mikey to distract me." He placed his arm around my shoulders. "I know Ana. Trust me I do not like being in class without you either. I mean who else is going to explain what is going on in class?" He jokes and makes me smile. He always had a way of cheering me up. "Thanks Cal now we better head to our next classes. We actually need to pass in order to make the soccer team, let alone tryout for the captain's spot. We need to show everyone that we have 'leadership' skills." I make airquotes to relieve all my tension that had been building up since this morning. "All we have to do is make it through school and then the soccer field will be kindly waiting for us to relieve some stress. Also I'll play you one of your favorite songs as per 'first day of school' tradition." He tells me as we walk in to our Biology class together. "Okay Calum, but I get two songs if I make captain." I smile at him before we sit down next to each other in class.

Sam's POV

"Fucking fuck motherfucker frick frack fickle..." I trailed off in a release of swear and made up words as i stuffed my stuff in my locker. "Well I thought I was having a tough morning." I jumped at Luke's voice. "Shit Hemmings clear your throat or something you're like a ghost!" He laughed and I slammed my locker shut. "Okay what's going on?" He placed his hands on my shoulders and stared into my eyes. "Stop I can't focus with those eyes and you know it." He laughed and pulled away. "Seriously Sam what's going on?" I took a deep breath and huffed slouching against my locker. "Michael is in my class." I looked up at Luke. "And your point is...?" he questioned. I slung my bag over my shoulder and we walked down the hall. "I showed up late of course and the only open seat was in front of him. Luke, he smells like fucking strawberries!" I groaned and he laughed me again. "He also kinda looks like a strawberry. You know the red hair? No? Okay, but hey maybe this way you'll actually get to talk to him." He poked me and I giggled. I shook my head we walked into biology. "Well there's your hot soccer player." I cooed as we sat down at a table. "Yeah she's in my calculus class too." I rolled my eyes. "Ew sports and brians. She's a regular zombie." I grumbled and pulled out a sketchbook. "Can't you be human for a second?" Luke laughed and begand doodling in the corner of my sketch book. "Nope my horrorscope says my mythical creture is a witch. So in turn I must be a bitch!" he rolled his eyes. "You and astrology. What's mine?" he questioned. "Uhhh... werewolf I believe, and Michael is a vampire." I informed him smiling. "You know his birthday that's creepy." I gave him a face. "I write the announcments you dip shit. I know most of the kids birthdays." Michael walked in as the bell rang. "Fuck me." I groaned. "Glady." Michaled whispered as he passed by. "Shut the fuck up you ass." Luke retorted back a low growl emitting from his chest. I felt an intese blush heat my neck and face and I slammed my face down into my arms. "He wasnt supposed to hear me..." I moaned. Luke rubbed my back. "You're okay." I peeked through my lashes and saw the soccer player girl slap Michael's chest as he sat down and he and the dark haired boy laughed. "Men are pigs." Luke growled. "Luke, you're a man. Well kind of." He smiled and poked my cheek. "There she is." The class begaun and the rest of the day was unpreductive. We shuffled to class after class. I had no more classes with Michael, thank God, but a few with Luke and the dark haired boy i later found out was Calum Hood. Calum had been in my Kindergarten class when we were little but he looked a lot different now. I had only one class with the soccer girl Luke seemed to be hung up on. "Her name is Ana." I told him as we left the school and walked toward the music room. We were done for the day, but Luke wanted to work on his music. "Ana! Right. I guess I could've asked Mom but that's kind of-" I cut him off. "Luke that is SO creepy!" he rolled his eyes and he slung his arm around my shoulders. "Yeah, but you love me!" He said pulling me next to him. "Yes I do unfortunatly." I responded and slide my arm around his waist.
