One week later

Spencer followed after Hotch through the BAU halls, "Hotch she's making progress, you can't just send her away!" Spencer says angrily.

Hotch stops in his tracks and turns to face Spencer, "She threw a vase at your head, Reid, she is dangerous" Spencer scoffs, "This is Y/n we're talking about. How could you do that?"

"I'm doing what I think is best for her" Hotch stands his ground.

"You think this is good for her? She needs to be with her family"

"Reid-"

"I'll take care of her, I'll take some time off till she's better, just... just don't send her away"

Just as Hotch was about to respond Garcia walks through them, "We have a case"

"We'll talk about this later"

3 days later

Spencer wheeled Y/n into her living room, figuring it would be best if she was in a familiar place. She fidgeted with her hospital bracelet and occasionally spoke, but only in short sentences.

Spencer took off his shoes and left them by the entrance. He walked into the kitchen, looking for anything to cook with. He's not that good of a cook so he settled for take-out. He grabbed a menu and ordered food for both of them.

As he waits for the food to arrive, he takes a seat next to her on the couch. He notices the framed photo on the coffee table and picks it up. He examines it, it was a picture of Y/n and another boy, he didn't recognize, he assumed it was her brother considering they looked very similar.

Y/n saw Spencer looking at the photo, "Is this your brother?" He asks.

She smiles slightly and takes the frame from his hands, "Yeah" she murmured.

"You never talk about him" she looks at Spencer and shrugs her shoulders.

Spencer couldn't figure her out, he just wanted to know what was going on inside her head. He wanted to help her. Y/n wasn't y/n anymore.

The team caught the guys who took Y/n. They would take women and pump them full of hallucinogens and tortured them. Which explained Y/n's behavior, when she was first admitted into the hospital, but it should've worn off by now.

1 month later

"I'm not hungry" I push back the plate full of food.

After a month I was slowly returning to my old self, making witty comments at Spencer and the occasional pranks. Spencer spent every day trying to help me. He never pushed me to do anything I didn't want to do. We mostly spent our days playing scrabble or watching Star Trek. Which drove me crazy. Spencer would recite the dialogue and I would tell him to shut up. The team comes by after work to watch me and Spencer play a very competitive game of scrabble.

"You haven't eaten all day" Spencer pushes the plate back in front of me.

"Fine" I stuffed a fork full of noodles in my mouth, "Are you happy?"

"Delighted" he gets up from the couch.

"You know you can go back to work Spencer. I'm fine really."
