[Same Day, 6 p.m.]

The waiting room in the hospital in Miyako was filled with Saya's friends and family. Yumie sat at one table with Megumi and Kenji as they all made a puzzle together. They were all supposed to be in Hyogo, but early in the morning Megumi caught Yumie trying to sneak into a taxi to head to the train station to go to Miyako. Megumi stopped her, much to Yumie's disappointment, but then told her they would all go together, as they were just as worried about both Saya and Kita.

Osamu and Kimiko sat at another table and played a card game with each other, a cooler with onigiri beside them for anyone that was hungry. At another table sat Hoshi, Mayumi, Koushi, and Kita who all made small chat as they anxiously waited for updates on Saya's condition. They knew she was going to live, but they did not what state she was in, or what more wounds she had that they didn't know about.

A few minutes later Daichi walked in as everyone grew silent and turned their attention to him. He gave everyone a small wave and stood before the table Saya's parents, Koushi, and Kita sat at- but spoke loud enough for all to hear.

"Well, to start, Saya is going to be just fine," he said with a small smile as everyone sighed in relief- Koushi and Mayumi bursting into tears and hugging one another as they listened, "The injury to her neck wasn't deep enough to harm her beyond the fact that she needed stitches to close it. She will be able to eat and drink on her own, and just needs to rest to let the wound heal. Along with that- there was a deep cut on her upper arm," he said with a frown as the rooms mood shifted again,

"It looks like they tried to stitch it on the boat, but with limited supplies, it started to get infected. The doctors cleaned it up and closed the wound and it should heal just fine. The doctors brought her out of sedation for a few minutes to speak. She was still pretty out of it, but said that besides feeling some aches, she felt okay."

"And what about that sick fuck??" Kenji spat as Megumi punched his arm for swearing in front of Yumie, who then told her Kenji's choice of words was fitting.

"He has a broken nose and a fractured hand, as well as some gnarly bruises and contusions to the back of his thigh. His spine is fractured and he had a punctured lung, but they were able to resolve it," Daichi said as this emotions faltered all over the place, "He is under 24/7 police surveillance and is secured to the bed- though, with his back and leg injuries, he wouldn't be able to go anywhere on his own anyways. When he is discharged from the hospital he will be brought back to the Miyagi Police Department where he will be questioned and put in jail until the trial starts."

Everyone started to make small chat with each other saying how they wish he suffered more, but were glad he was in police custody where he belonged. An officer opened the door and called Daichi into the hall and he excused himself from the room as he went out with him.

Kita leaned back in his seat and ran a hand through his hair, relieved that Saya was going to be okay and that he didn't kill Yamaguchi- though, he did wish he hit him a second time. He put his hand back down on the table and looked at Saya's parents and brother. Before Daichi had come in they were discussing what the best next steps for Saya would be. Since they were in Miyako, they decided when she was discharged from the hospital she would go back to her childhood home in Miyagi to spend some time with her family. But, the question remained, where she would go after that.

As much as Kita wanted Saya by his side, in his arms, he felt that she needed to be with her family as well. Especially after the ordeal she had just been through. Kita was more than willing to visit Miyagi to see her for however long she decided to stay. And if in the end she chose to live in Miyagi forever with her family- Kita decided he would talk to Yumie about moving them there as well; leaving the world he knew behind to be with who his world revolved around now.
