"Hey hyung we're gonna watch a movie in Yeosang and Jongho's room. Want to join us?" San asked as he was grabbing his bag to head over.

"I think I'm good, but thanks. I was going to head down to the pool."

"Sounds good! If you feel like joining you're welcome to interrupt," San smiled and left the room.

Hongjoong began putting on his suit as his mind flooded with worries about the upcoming competition. What if they messed up? What if they lost? What if their fans didn't show up?

There were endless issues and problems that could arise and thinking about all of them didn't do anything but give him a headache. He could really use a nice soak in the hot tub. He finally got his stuff together and headed down to check it out.

When he arrived he scanned his key and entered, but almost fell backwards in shock when he saw who was already floating in the pool: Seonghwa.

His mind wanted to run back up to the room and pretend he never saw him but his heart pulled him forward and he neared the edge of the pool.

"Seonghwa?" he mustered.

Seonghwa turned to a standing position and looked towards the sound, making direct eye contact with Hongjoong.

"H—Hongjoong?! Wh—what are you doing here?"

"I—um—I'm here for the festival."

He didn't know if he should share that he's playing at the festival but he figured his statement was information enough.

"I didn't know you liked rock," Seonghwa stuttered, still staring at Hongjoong.

"Well you must too if you're here, right?" Hongjoong said with an attempt at a smile.

"Oh—yeah, I guess that's just another thing we have in common," he smiled awkwardly. They sat in silence for a moment before Seonghwa started to get out of the pool.

"I've been here for a while so I think I should probably head back to my room. It was nice seeing you again," he said as he grabbed his towel and slipped on his slides.

Hongjoong wanted to be angry, wanted to lash out, but he couldn't help but feel a wave of happiness at seeing Seonghwa. He hadn't thought they'd ever meet again, much less at the hotel. As much as his mind was remembering their arguments and the tears he shed in private, his heart still longed to hold him again.

"Seonghwa wait." Seonghwa turned as his hand landed on the door handle.

"Can—can we talk?"

Seonghwa sighed and opened the door.

"It's really not the best time for me—"

"I just want to talk Hwa. I'm still confused about how things ended and the least you could do is give me an explanation. I'm not asking to make up or anything I just—I just want to talk to you. You owe me that much."

Seonghwa paused for a while before finally closing the door and turning back.

"Okay, let's talk."
