First Appointment

It had been a whole solid week since Kassi told Brantley the secret she had been keeping. That in fact she was pregnant! And ever since then Brantley had taken the reigns completely. Including finding a suitable Doctor and making Kassidy's first appointment. Something that made Kassi mad to her core and to her dismay her first appointment was today.

Kassi growled as she walked out of the master bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body. Marching right past Brantley who was looking through the closet for something to wear. Once again refusing to speak to him. The two hadn't spoke in almost 3 days. Neither looked like they were going to break soon.

"You really aren't going to talk to me Kassidy?" Brantley growled as she began slamming drawers around on the dresser as she rummaged through her panty drawer.

"Oh I can talk. Trust me I can talk. I'm just choosing not to talk to you! There's a difference!" Grabbing her stuff she headed to the inside of the closet. Slamming the door behind her.

When she appeared from the closet she had on a pair of black Nike leggings. Pairing it with a gray cropped Nike T shirt. Flopping down on the edge of the bed she slipped the black no show socks on her feet. Then she slipped her feet into her cookies and cream colored Nike Vapormax Flyknit tennis shoes. Walking back into the bathroom she quickly braided her hair into 2 french braids going down her back. Giving herself a quick spray of perfume she walked out.

"Can we leave yet or do you get to choose the damn time we leave too?" She snapped as she grabbed her Louis Vuitton wristlet off top of the dresser.

Brantley rolled his eyes as he slipped his wedding ring onto his finger. "Ready when you are princess!" He muttered as she walked past him and out the door.

The drive to Athens was complete silence Brantley hadn't even bothered to connect his phone to the radio. He just drove looking straight ahead as Kassi looked out the passenger side window. Once again refusing to even speak to him.

 Before either of them realized it Brantley's black truck pulled into the office belonging to Dr. Leah Lowman. He sighed as he put the truck in park and turning it off. He sat back in his seat with his arms resting above his head. Closing his eyes. He just needed a minute he just needed to calm his own self down. Fighting his hardest to keep his temper in check. He understood Kassi he really did. Even though she probably felt like he didn't. He got her way of thinking. But who knew if it was going to turn out like that? She at least needed top notch  prenatal care. At least right now.

"So let me guess. This was Amber's OB too?! That's why you took me here right?!" Kassi spat.

Brantley rolled his eyes as he climbed out of the truck. Waiting for Kassi to follow behind him. He stood waiting for her as he watched her climb out and walk behind him.

"I'm not fighting with you Kassidy. Not today." He muttered as he held the door open for her. Motioning for her to go inside first. Once inside Kassi noticed the empty waiting room. Sitting down slowly she watched as Brantley walked up to the front desk and then walk back in her direction with a clip board in his hand.

 Then he went to hand her the clipboard. Kassi shook her head no.

"Oh no. Since you know so much about me and my body. You can fill out all the paperwork! Since you get to control every aspect of my life. Here's my insurance card. You go right ahead there big guy! Best of luck!" She sighed as she pulled her airpods off of her keyring and popped them into her ears.

Before she realized it a nurse had come out and was holding a folder. "Kassidy Gilbert?" The nurse called. Brantley tapped Kassi's knee lightly as he stood up. Then he watched as Kassi stood up walking in front of him. "It's Delrosa." She muttered as she followed the nurse to an empty exam room. The nurse looked at her as they got into the small exam room.

"Okay! I'm gonna step out and let you get undressed and then I'll come back in and ask you a few quick questions!" She smiled. Kassi nodded her head. Once the door closed she stripped putting on the paper gown she climbed back up on the exam table and watched as the nurse walked back in. For the next 10 minutes they talked and answered questions. Kassi answering them to the best of her abilities. They were going far back. God maybe she should have brought her mom instead of her husband.

The nurse closed out of the computer and looked at her. "Okay your done with me! The Doctor will be in and she'll see you soon!" Kassi nodded her had as she tried her best to put together a decent smile.

 The silence in the room was too much. So much that in this moment in time you would probably be able to hear crickets. Brantley sat scrolling through his phone. Kassi stayed looking up at the celling trying to calm her racing heart that she could officially hear through her eardrums. When had she let a Doctor's appointment give her so much anxiety? Swallowing she tried her best to calm herself down. Finally she was taken out of her thoughts by a knock at the door.

Kassi watched as the small woman walked into the room. The woman literally held everything she firmly believed in her own two hands.

"Hi Kassidy! I'm Dr. Lowman she smiled as she stepped in. Kassi nodded as she sat up looking at the woman. She watched as Brantley quickly slid his phone into his pocket. Kassi watched as the woman opened the folder giving it a quick scan before she made eye contact with her again.

"So we gave you a urine test when you first arrived. You took it. Congrats again it came back positive! You are most certainly pregnant!" The Doctor smiled. "Then I saw you had some worries of your own? I see you have been getting treated for a blood disorder?" She looked at Kassi. Who quickly nodded her head. "Uh yeah I am a heavy bleeder. A menstrual cycle can last almost a month for me sometimes." She muttered. Watching as the Doctor nodded her head.

"I am also seeing you are being treated for PCOS?" The Doctor smiled lightly. I bet it was a huge shock when you saw that positive pregnancy test huh?" Kassi quickly shook her head yes. The Doctor smiled at her brightly. "Well those kind of test results are always the best kind!" Kassi nodded her head in agreement. It wasn't that she wasn't excited it was that she was just nervous and most importantly scared.

"Well according to my calculations! Please know that right now this is just an estimate of time. But I want to say you are about 7 or 8 weeks along. I'm gonna estimate right now your due date around Thanksgiving or a couple of days after or before. Kassi nodded her head again biting her lip. Holy shit.. She had a due date she thought to herself.

 "I'm also gonna go ahead and put in a script for Prenatals. But if you would rather go to Target or Walmart and get the gummy vitamin that would be good too. I heard they taste better!" She giggled. I'm also going to give you some blood work and another urine test order just to check your urine for a few things and now we are going to walk down to Ultrasound and see what we can see!" She smiled.

"Wait!" Kassi yelled as she sat up and looked at the Doctor. "There's a chance that I'm going to see my baby today?" She whispered. The Doctor nodded her head with a smile. "There most certainly is. If not we will most certainly hear the heartbeat! Follow me please."

Kassi laid on yet another exam table as she watched as the ultrasound tech helped her get her legs up. The Doctor looked at Kassidy. "Today were just going to do a simple transvaginal. Just because I don't think you are far enough along to pick something up on a regular ultrasound." Kassi nodded her head and closed her eyes.

Before she realized it a wooshing sound filled the speakers of the room making the Doctor smile. Then a thump thump thump. It sounded a little bit fast to Kassi. Brantley walked over standing at Kassi's head as he focused more on the screen.

 The Doctor smiled at Kassi. "Kassidy.. That's your baby.. She whispered as she pointed to the screen. "And right now it looks perfectly healthy.."

Kassi quickly covered her mouth with her hand. Reaching quickly over to squeeze Brantley's hand without thinking.

"It's our baby.."
