Saying Sorry

Kassi sat out on the back deck looking out at the property that Brantley's house sat on. She knew it was super early in the morning. Even though she didn't quite know the time. Picking up her glass of gatorade she almost moaned as the cold liquid went down her throat. She had come to one conclusion. Morning sickness was a bitch! Sighing as she sat the glass down she stretched out in the chair. Closing her eyes tightly she just wanted this feeling to go away. But she also knew it was a big part of pregnancy. So she was just learning to take it all in stride.

The weekend was upon them. Brantley was stretched out in their bed sound asleep. Barrett was in his room sound asleep. Kassi was just up. Battling the constant need of throwing up and battling the battle of her own thoughts. Well pile that all together and she felt like absolute shit.

For the past month she had become this horrible person to anyone that stood in her path. Including her own husband. Well mostly her own husband. She didn't mean too. It just happened. She couldn't describe what made her act the way she had been acting. But then she saw the way Brantley was going more than out of his way to make sure she was going to have the best of everything during her pregnancy. Including the best prenatal care he could possibly get. The man was taking no chances!

Now that she saw all that he was doing? Kassi felt like absolute shit. She sighed as she stood up. Not even knowing where to begin but she knew she had to apologize. Even if it didn't make everything in the world right he needed to know she was sorry. Hell he didn't even have to accept it. Sighing she just had to figure out how she was going to do it.

She groaned as she finished the glass of gatorade before walking back into the kitchen. Sighing she rinsed the glass out and dropped it into the sink lightly as she walked slowly down the hall to the bedroom. Shaking her head with a smile as she saw his sleeping body. Now taking up the entire middle of the bed. She couldn't even climb back into the bed if she wanted too. Shaking her head she walked into her closet and quickly dressed.

Deciding on something simple of course she was literally just going to the grocery store before 8 am on a Saturday with her fingers crossed that it was opened. But she figured she could just make the drive to Athens and go to Publix she knew they were open. That's where she use to do all of her own grocery shopping.

Looking at herself in the full length mirror in her closet she looked at her outfit of choice. A pair of black Nike Dri Fit Tempo shorts. A light gray tank top. She tossed her hair into a quick braid down her back. Poking her 2 carat diamond earrings into her ears. She sprayed some body spray before she slipped her feet into a pair of black Nike flip flops. Grabbing her Louis Vuitton wristlet off the dresser she tip toed out the bedroom and out the door.

After stopping at Starbucks before the grocery store Kassi was able to demolish a Grande size iced Green Tea Lemonade and 2 vanilla bean scones with complete content. Although she knows she would have much rather it been an iced caramel macchiato she demolished. Pulling out a cart she popped her sunglasses on her head as she walked into the grocery store.

She had decided on the way there she was going to make Steak, Chicken breasts, Macaroni and Cheese, Fresh Green Beans with Bacon. Loaded baked potatoes and maybe cheesecake? Yeah cheesecake for sure. The baby wanted cheesecake! Plus she knew Brantley had a weakness for cheesecake.

Yeah it probably wasn't the world's best apology but it was a start. Right? Plus Kassi loved to cook for people. She always had. She was very shocked when she became a lawyer instead of a chef. It just kind of happened though.

On her way home from the grocery store she pulled into a Mcdonald's drive thru. She had left the house this morning before she had cooked Barrett breakfast. But she had things to do. Plus she knew the 3 year old had an intense love for Mcgriddles and hash browns. Plus she knew Brantley wasn't a breakfast person. At all ever. She wouldn't be shocked if she saw him just heating up left overs when she got home.

Kassi shook her head with a smile as she pulled up the driveway. There stood Barrett on the deck. In nothing but a pull up and rocking some serious bed head hair. Kassi smiled as she climbed out of the SUV before going to the back and grabbing her bags.

"Kassi! Where you go!" He yelled with his arms crossed looking at her as she walked up the steps. Kassi just shook her head with a smile as she slid past him setting her bags on the counter. She watched as Brantley walked into the kitchen. He looked at her up and down. "I was about to call you." He muttered as he watched her move around the kitchen and put stuff away.

Laying the meat in the fridge she looked at him. "Yeah I couldn't sleep anymore. Morning sickness. Couldn't get comfortable. So I just got up. Then I went to the grocery store." She shrugged as she opened the Mcdonalds bag and got Barrett set up at the kitchen island. He ran in clapping his hands as soon as he saw what Kassi had sat down for him.

"Am I forgiven?" She giggled.
