Chapter 8

I'm thirsty. I get up, go into the kitchen to drink and come back, it's barely six in the morning... Oh? Reki is now in the middle and sleeps in Langa's arms, it's so cute they cuddle in their sleep! Hop ! I take a picture and go back to sleep. Some hour later I feel the light of day on my face and movement around me.

- Reki: "Wake up !"

I open my eyes a little and see Reki above us. I hear Langa growling and hiding under the duvet, I take my pillow and do the same.

- Me: "I don't want to wake up!"
- Langa: "Just a little more please!"
- Reki: "No, your mom is home and she's making breakfast."
- Me: "Nanako is here!?"

I'm getting up first, I haven't seen her for so long I'm so happy! Reki laughs and goes to the kitchen. I am still half asleep but manages to stay standing without falling, I give a little blow to Langa so that he gets up too. I entered the living room, followed by Langa, and saw Reki sitting at the table laughing at our head.

- Reki: "You should see your faces! haha ! I knew Langa wasn't a morning person, but you, Sarah, it's almost worse!"
- Me: "You can talk, your hair is a big mess..."

Langa gives me a little hit in the shoulder and wispers to me...

- Langa: "Be nice to him."

Right. I forgot that you can't make fun of his little Reki... I walk into the middle of the living room and see Langa's mother looking at me with big eyes, as if she had seen a ghost.

- Nanako: "S-Sarah! It's really you! I'm so happy to see you!"
- Me: "Aunt Nanako!"

We give each other a big hug and she grabe my cheeks with her hands and then begins to inspect me.

- Nanako: "It's been a few months since we left, and you've changed so much already! You're so beautiful! Tell me how are Jason and Julie? Did you come with them?"

Oh... I have to tell them now, don't I? It's still too early for that... But they have a right to know. And then, I told myself yesterday that I would tell them today! Got a little courage Sarah! I can see Nanako is a little worried about my silence.

- Nanako: "What's wrong sweety ? Something happened? You make a weird face..."
- Me: "I..."

The Words don't want to come out. But I have to do it, I have to tell them that after they left, things got out of hand.

- Me: "You... Please go and sit down..."

We go to the table where there are the boys, Reki knows that I had some family issues and understands that I will talk about it. He gets up and comes to us.

- Reki: "I'm going home, you have things to say to each other I think."
- Me: "You can stay. I mean... please stay..."

He is surprised by my request but goes back to sit followed by Nanako and me. Langa looks at me with a worried look.

- Nanako: "You have something to tell us? How are your parents doing? Nothing happened to them... Right ?"
- Langa: "Mom calm down you're going to stress her out. What's wrong Sarah? You look like you're... scared."

Because i am... I am afraid to remember, afraid of their reaction, I'm afraid... I take a deep breath to start talking.

- Me: "Uh... After you leave...No, it started before that, when Oliver died."
- Langa: "My dad?"
- Me: "When your father died that devastated mine, they were best friends after all. He could no longer stand not being able to see or talk to him... so to bear the pain he... he started drinking and quickly became addicted..."
- Nanako: "Oh no... I hadn't noticed..."
