Mood Music-This will be a bit different, I'll put notes when to play certain songs because they have to be in time, you'll see what I mean in a bit
The following evening came round quickly, and luckily for me, Sasha came home in a much chirpier mood, smiling brightly as she swung open the door to our flat. In fact, she was too chirpy, and I was immediately suspicious of her manner.
"Good day at work?" I questioned cautiously.
"Amazing, actually. I worked with Kalias on a new piece, cleaned all the old brushes and, oh, I invited Tyler over for dinner." My eyes widened as I walked over to meet her where she was stood in the kitchen.
"You did what? Again? Really?"
"Look, after what you told me last night, it seems like you two are ready to move past this. So, I went ahead and rushed it for you. He's coming in an hour, just... be nice."
"Uh, no promises! We might be civil, but I already told him it will take time for us to be friends."
"And when better to start that time then tonight? I know you'll never admit it, but that man makes you ten times happier so the sooner you make up, the sooner your roommate can stop hearing you complain about him every night. Plus, I have to forgive him too, you realize? He didn't just hurt you."
I sighed, giving into Sasha's words. She had really taken on Tyler's role of being right all the time.
"Fine, I'll play nice. But one wrong move and he's out, got it?"
"Clear as day." I walked off into my room, opening my wardrobe and scanning it for an outfit to wear to the surprise dinner. I'd been in bed all day, making the most of my final days off, so I hadn't got dressed and was still strolling about in my flannel pajamas and dressing gown. I'd never really cared about how I looked, especially around Tyler, and that wasn't about to change anytime soon, so I opted for the first pair of skinny jeans and striped shirt I laid my eyes on, changing my outfit quickly and making my way back into the front room, where Sasha had put some pasta on the stove to begin preparing dinner. I shoved my hair into my daily ponytail, just finishing wrapping the band around as I heard a knock on the door.
"You'll get it!" Sasha called out. I swear to god this girl.
I gave her a sarcastic smile and walked over to the entrance, revealing the familiar face of Tyler Lewis once more.
"Hey." He said awkwardly, fingers fiddling with the ribbon on the bottle of red wine he was holding.
"Hi." I responded dryly, unsure of where to go from there.
If the whole evenings going to be like this, I'm regretting this already.
I stepped aside, prompting him to enter the flat and he did so, leaving the aforementioned bottle on our coffee table and making his way through to the kitchen.
"Hey Tyler, glad you could make it." Sasha spoke as he approached her.
"I'm glad I came! It's good to see you and not have water dripping off my face." They both laughed as I closed the door and made to join the conversation.
"So uh... what are you cooking?" Tyler asked, using all his might to break the ice.
"Spaghetti Bolognese, basically the only thing I know how to do. Jody's the chef of the household."
"Really? I never saw you as a cook." You haven't seen me at all the past 2 years.
"Me neither, to be honest, just kind of happened. It's very... therapeutic. I'm not very good either, though, we eat frozen food most nights."
