I managed to comfort Harriett a little before deciding to get her into Hero's car and drove of to the hospital. It was about a twenty minute drive down the road, and the traffic wasn't that bad. Harriett stayed silent, all I could hear coming from her was tiny little sobs as she continued to cry. I pulled up in the parking lot and we made our way slowly to the entrance to the hospital. There was people walking about talking to loved ones in hospital gowns, that must be staying here. We walked up to reception, Harriett still continued to cry.
"Hello," The receptionist smiled at us.
"We have come to see Hero Thomas?" I state, half asking.
"He is just in theatre at the moment," She answers.
"When can we see him?"
"As soon as he comes out, but only immediate family."
"This is his twin sister, and I'm his girlfriend," I inform her.
"Then that's fine, he will be going to the recovery room on the first floor, you can go up and wait. Maybe a doctor can give you a bit more information than I can," She smiles sweetly at us. I thank her, grab Harriett by the arm and start to lead her towards the lift where we made our way to the recovery rooms waiting room.

Harriett hadn't uttered a word since we have been at the hospital waiting in the waiting room. It must of been an hour before a doctor came out and up to the both of us. Harriett stayed starring at the floor, her eyes blood shot from all the crying. She didn't care that she still had tears rolling down her face but I could tell she was beginning to stop.
"Hello, are you Hero's sister?" The doctor asked as he stopped in front of us.
"I'm not, but this is," I say as I looked over at Harriett. For the first time she looked up and looked directly at someone else and not just the floor.
"Hero is going to be completely fine, he lost a lot of blood. Just needs to recover now. He's awake if you would like to see him," The doctor informed us.
"Can Rose come with me?" Harriett asked, her voice sounded so husky and dry.
"Of course," The doctor smiled.
Harriett and I followed the doctor down the hall and into a single hospital room. Hero payed on the bed with no shirt, but a bandage was wrapped around his stomach. His eyes were closed, he looked so peaceful but yet he looked so pained. Harriett went straight to his bedside and touched Hero on the cheek. He opened his eyes and looked at his sister, Harriett silently let out tears as she looked at her twin.
"H," Hero sighed.
"Sh, don't try and talk," Harriett spoke softly.
"Rose?" Hero quietly questioned.
"She's here, if it weren't for her. You wouldn't be," Harriett informed him.

We stayed with Hero for the remainder of the day, doctors allowed us as it was a private room, as long as we aloud him to have rests. Harriett fell asleep in the armchair beside Hero's bed, I sat on the end of the bed looking from Hero to Harriett as Hero watched Harriett sleep. Love was evident on his face. The love he has for his sister warms my heart every time I think about it.
"Thank you, Rose," Hero finally says after a few moments. "If it weren't for you, Harriett would be alone."
"I wasn't going to allow you to not get help," I smiled at him. He slowly moved his hand so it was on top of mine.
"I have some explaining to do," Hero sighed. "Our dad left us when we were young, I knew he wanted me dead, and he wants to use Harriett for sex. He's in this sort of gang, they pride on young girls. But with me around, he will never be able to get to H," Hero explained. I remember Josh telling me bits, but he never went into detail. "He tried to kidnap Harriett from our mother when we was younger, instead he got arrested and deported back to America. He's banned from the UK." He paused looking back at his sister before carrying on: "When I found out that H wanted to come here for Uni, I knew I had to come along with her. Just to keep her safe. If I didn't, I don't know what would have happened. But Harriett was the one that found him before, she wanted answers, closure. But of course he didn't want to know her, he just wanted her to give herself to him and the others involved."
I stayed silent, I didn't know how to respond to Hero as he told me his darkest secret of all. I wondered how many people knew the dark past Hero kept inside. I didn't once take my eyes of the broken guy who laid in pain, the guy that would literally take a knife for the once he loves.
"I don't believe in love, Rose. That's true. I don't date. But with you - with you it's different, I feel like you could show me. You could be the one to change that," Hero admitted.
Harriett started to stir, she woke with sleepy, heavy eyes as she looked over at Hero and myself. She smiled and asked Hero how he was doing. She sat beside me on the bed, and I realised that actually these two are the most complicated pair I have ever known. Hero is the complete opposite from me, but that's just because he has experienced so much more in the world than I ever would.
