Kath received a text from this mysterious Hero informing her he was outside ready for whenever we were. So Kath and I both gathered our bags and headed towards the parking lot. In the parking lot sat a black Mercedes, which I assumed to be Hero's as Kath headed in that direction. I just followed her as she flung the passenger door open.
"Hey, this is Rose," Kath introduced. I looked in the car, and instantly knew I was right. This guy was defiantly in the same category as Kath, no wonder why they were friends. He was covered in tattoos. He gave me a look I wasn't really sure on, he didn't look impressed. Didn't say anything to me, just turned to face the front again. Kath jumped into the car as I cautiously got in the back and before I knew it, we were on our way to this party.

Hero pulled up outside of the frat house that looked pretty full all ready, I wasn't sure I was going to have any fun as this was far from my normal scene. But I thought, I am in college now, so I better give the college life a good try. We all stepped out of the car and I followed Hero and Kath up to the front of the house. Just as we reached the front door, Harriet came out engulfing Hero in a hug. They surely can't be together? If so, he is defiantly punching. Harriett said her hellos to myself and Kath before quickly darting down to the end of the garden where a grey car sat. She leaned in through the window talking to someone.
"Come on, I'll introduce you to everyone," Kath said as she grabbed my arm and pulled me inside leaving Hero standing on the doorstep starring off to where Harriett had gone.
In side there was hardly any room to move around but Kath seemed to be a bit of a pro as she weaved in and out of the crowds forming. We reached the lounge where there sat a group of teens. Kath plonked herself down next to a pretty blonde before giving her a peck. "Everyone, this is Rose," Kath introduced me to the group. I shyly sat down on the couch next to a guy, with long messy brown, almost black, hair. "Rose, you have Amy, Kaitlin, Bradley, and Jason," Kath added pointing to each member of the group individually.
Hero walks back in and over to us as he slumps down on the couch next to Amy, obviously looking really pissed off at something. If I had a wild guess, I would say it had something to do with Harriett, from the way he watched her.
"What's up with you?" Bradley asked Hero, leaning forward in his seat.
"H," Hero scoffed.
"She coming back?" Jason asked.
"Most likely not, she always fucking does this. Him? I don't understand it personally." Hero had the same British accent as Harriett. Most likely why they are a thing, some culture. But Harriet seems so sweet, and such a good person, whereas Hero, from the way he talks and looks unimpressed with everything, seems a bit obnoxious.
"Lets take your mind of it, and play a good game of truth and dare," Amy exclaims as she drapes her arm around Hero's shoulder.
"Isn't this like a kids game?" I ask, not even meaning to.
"Not the way we play it," Amy smirks.
"Alright, Rose, truth or dare?" Bradley asks me raising an eyebrow.
"Truth," I reply.
"How old was you when you lost your virginity?" Amy asked leaning forward. I noticed that Hero had his arm around Amy's waist and how close they sat beside each other. I sat uncomfortable and shuffled my weight about whilst looking at my hands twiddling in my lap. I could feel all the eyes on me, waiting for my answer. "Hold on, are you a virgin?" Amy sniggered. I could feel my cheeks burning, I felt embarrassed.
"You're eighteen and never had sex?" Hero laughed. Right, I have decided I don't like this group of friends. They were all laughing at my expense.
"I change, I want dare," I heard myself speak before I could stop myself.
"Alright, take five shots of vodka, in a row," Jason stated passing me the bottle of vodka.
"I don't drink," I answered as I held my hand up to push the bottle away.
"So you're a virgin who doesn't drink? Kath, who is this?" Amy laughed. She cuddled in to Hero who was also laughing.
"Fine," I said as I took the bottle of vodka and started taking swig after swig. I could feel the burning sensation all the way down to my stomach. I didn't really like the taste, but I wasn't going to give them anything else to laugh at.
The game went on and soon enough it came back around to me, all eyes were on me once again, and I wasn't going to make the same mistake as before. I wasn't going to let them ask me any more embarrassing questions, so of course, I chose dare. Instantly regretting that decision as well.
"I dare you to make out with Hero," Jason chuckled. I saw Hero lean forward, and everyone had a smirk on their faces, even Amy. Hero stood and made his way over to me, leaning down so his face was inches from mine. I looked into his emerald green eyes, as he looked into mine.
It took me a few moments to speak, but when I finally did, everyone was surprised: "I don't want to play this childish game anymore." I pushed Hero out of my way and stood exiting the room and walking outside to the lawn. I sat down on the brick wall and pulled my phone out looking for Luke's number, I found it and instantly hit dial.
Within seconds, I heard the raspy, sleepy voice of my boyfriend: "Hello? Rose?"
"Luke," I sigh down the phone.
"Everything alright?" He asks, concern dripping in his voice.
"Yeah," I respond, not at all convincing.
"You sure? What's that noise? Rose, are you at a party?" Luke shoots at me.
"I got to go," I say quickly hanging up. I don't really know why I rang him, I guess I just wanted to hear a familiar voice, but I also knew as soon as he said party, he was going to start being judgemental. I sighed as I put my phone away. I noticed a familiar face start walking up the sidewalk, towards me. I smiled a small smile as Harriett reached where I was sitting.
"Why aren't you inside the party?" Harriett asks as she reaches me.
"Not really my scene," I reply. "Interesting friends you and Kath have," I added.
"They aren't so bad, you just got to get to know them. The hardest one to get along with is Hero, but he isn't a bad guy really," Harriet explained. Her British accent so thick that I could just hear how similar her and Hero sounded.
"I think I am going to head back now anyway," I stated giving a small smile.
"Alright, well lovely seeing you," Harriett says as she makes her way back into the party. I watch her leave and decide to order myself an Uber back to the dorm.
