Saturday went by in a flash, I slept most of the day as I felt so horrible from the night before, and before I knew it, it was Sunday. I decided after I got ready and made myself somewhat presentable I would go down to the campus coffee shop with my laptop and finish up what I have left of my essay.
It was only a short walk to the coffee shop, and the fresh air felt amazing, I was relieved when I did reach my destination and it was almost deserted. I ordered my usual caramel latte and set up station on a table by the window so I could watch the outside world. I sat alone rereading my essay so far, before I got interrupted by a straight faced Hero. I looked up at him as he sat opposite me.
"I want to show you something?" Hero stated. No hello, no nothing.
"What?" Confusion was apparent in my voice and facial expression.
"I want to show you something," Annoyance etched in his voice for repeating himself.
"Why would I go anywhere with you?" I ask.
"Thought you may like it."
"But you don't like me."
"I never said that," Hero replied shocked.
"You didn't have to."
"Fine, stay here alone," Hero stated as he went to move away. I thought for a moment. I was alone, and I had basically finished writing. What did I have to loose? Plus if I wanted to leave, and go back, I could. Right?
I knew I was soon going to regret this, but I grabbed Hero's wrist to stop him and agreed to go along with him. He gave me a smile, more like a smirk and I instantly got nervous as we walked out of the coffee shop and too his car.

We drove for about half an hour before Hero pulled up by a woods area, the car journey was mainly quiet and I started to get paranoid thinking what he may have planned. I didn't truly know this guy, and I know I was being stupid, Luke would've told me that. But something deep inside me was telling me just to let go and trust for once. We both stepped out the car and Hero started walking deep into the woods. It felt like he was trying to walk off quickly and leave me with the pass he was walking. It wasn't for a couple more minutes until we reached an open area, a cliff, a lake laid at the bottom and there was a swing rope attached to a branch. Hero stopped and took the swing rope in his hands."Why are we here?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Harriett told me I should do something that isn't, well, so me. Plus, I chose you as you are my friends room mate, so we will be seeing each other a bit. We might as well learn to fake liking each other," Hero answered not taking is eyes of the rope once.
"Fake?" I asked.
"It's clear you don't like me, and the concept you have for love just annoys me." Hero was more arrogant than I could ever imagine.
"Why would Harriett tell you to be nice to me?" I questioned.
"She likes you. Wants you around more. So you'll be around me more." Hero let go of the rope and started to proceed to take his top off. This guy may be arrogant, but he certainly had abs for days.
"What are you doing?"
"You are full of questions, aren't you?" Hero smirks.
"I just don't see why we are here," I reply.
"Fun."
Hero takes his socks, shoes, and pants of before walking back and having a running start before swinging out into the open air and dropping into the lake. He hits the water with force and causes a tremendous splash, he emerges from the water only a few seconds later, laughing. He looks up in my direction and shouts: "The waters beautiful!"
"I don't think so!" I shout back down, without controlling the giggle that escaped my lips.
"Let loose!"
I stood there and stared down at Hero paddling around in the water, it did look fun, but I had never thought about jumping of a cliff before. Before I knew it whilst I was thinking Hero had climbed back up and was stood next to me.
"We built a ladder ages ago up the side of the cliff, easier to get back up," Hero answered my unasked question.
"I can't jump in there, I haven't got anything to wear," I stated.
"Wear my shirt, it'll be long enough," Hero suggests.
I looked down at the black t-shirt laying on the floor that Hero had just chucked earlier on, and thought. I did want to fit in at University, but I also didn't want to die in the process.
"It's completely safe, Harriett does it and she is the biggest girl I know," Hero laughs.
I couldn't help myself, I just had to ask: "What's the deal with you and Harriett anyway?"
"The deal?" Confusion spread across his face.
"Yeah, why are you two together if you constantly argue?" I added. Instantly regretting it as Hero let out a belly laugh.
"Together? You think Harriett and I are together?" Hero managed to say between laughs. Great, he's making fun of me. After he managed to stop laughing he went on to say: "Have you ever wondered why there is only two Brits you've met? Harriett and I aren't together, she's my twin sister."
Of course, I thought. I do remember recalling that Kath said that Harriett has a twin brother, I just hadn't put two and two together. I should have, as that made complete sense. Always together, same emerald green eyes, same thick British accent.
"That has to be the funniest thing ever," Hero chuckled.
"I feel so stupid," I muttered.
"You should," Hero responded not holding back on hurting my feelings. "I'm going again, you get changed or don't, I don't really care." And with that Hero swung of the rope again and into the lake. My blood started to boil with the way he just spoke, so I quickly changed into Hero's black t-shirt before he had a chance to come back up. I took the rope in my hands, stared out into the distance and took a deep breath before swinging out into the open.
