We were finally home. Meredith was at her house and my mom works from home, so she planned on working. I went up to my room.

It was 2:56pm. I texted Cody: "Okay, I'm home:) safe and sound."

My phone started vibrating a ton. It was a phone call, but not just any phone call, the Phone Call.

"Hey, babe," Cody started.

"Heeyy!" I said. Too cheery? Oh well, don't worry about it.

"So, I was, uh, thinking," He said. "how about I come to Iowa? You know do a concert, maybe? You'll get VIP and come see me, of course."

What? What the hell? He just said he'd come see me? That's so sweet!

"Yeah, Cody! That'd be wonderful! Just, uh, don't expect much when you fly out here. It's all flat and corn fields," I responded.

"Ahaha! It's alright! I was looking at venues to play at. There really isn't a lot. So, how is the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines?" Cody asked me.

He was asking for my opinion. I felt special. But Cody totally butchered the pronunciation of 'Des Moines'. It was kind of cute though, so I didn't correct him.

"I've honestly never been to a concert in Iowa! Sorry, I'm originally from Pennsylvania, only moved here four years ago," I told him.

"It's alright! What part of Pennsylvania? I do a lot of touring here, so I may know it," Cody said.

"I'm from a small town. It has a funny name, Shickshinny. It's pretty close to Wilks-Barre," I responded.

"Wilks-Barre? I'm here right now!" Cody said.

"Wow? Really? Actually, my friend that lives there told me that you had a concert. She said she couldn't get tickets for it. You're very popular there I guess!" I told Cody.

"Aha, yeah, I think so! If your friend wants tickets for tonight, I could get them for her, or any other concert I have here," Cody said.

"She'd love that! I'll give you her number so you can call her," I told him my friends number. "Thank you!"

"You're welcome, babe," He told me. "So, anyway back to the concert in Iowa. I'll mail you three VIP passes, okay? Bring you're tall friend that you had with you. The concert date we we're planning is January 11th, about a month from now," He said to me.

"But, Cody, that's your birthday. You can't do that, I won't let you. Don't work on your birthday," I begged him.

"It's okay. It's the only time I can have the concert. I have a tight schedule. I'll see you, it'll be fine. It'll be a short concert, then," Cody sweetly said.

"Cody, you're so incredibly sweet," I told him. I was in tears, but they were happy tears. I told him my address so he could mail the tickets.

"Thanks," He said. "I gotta go. The boys will be wondering where I am. I wish I could talk to you longer," He sounded sad.

"I completely understand. I wish I could talk to you longer, too. Good luck at your show tonight," I told him.

"Thank you. Bye," Cody said.

"Bye," I said back.

We both hung up and that was that.

I felt so weird. I didn't know what to think about all this. I never talk to boys and boys never really talk to me. It felt so rushed, even though Cody wasn't my boyfriend. I know Cody has a lot of girls that are friends, but this felt...different.

I plopped down on my bed, letting it all soak in.
