Good news was that I made it through that week of school. Meredith was all smiles the entire week.
Today was the day of the concert.
Meredith came home with me. She wore her concert outfit to school, so she was ready. She had black skinny jeans, an ivory studded collared shirt, and her combat boots.
She helped me pick my outfit out: skinny jeans and a long sleeve gray shirt with lace on the shoulder. I wore my black Vans with it.
We were ready to go. We went downstairs with our VIP passes, got my mom, and we left.

We were at the Venue.
I texted Cody: "We're here. Where do you want us to come in?"
Cody texted back: "I call you!"
My phone rang. "Hey!" I said.
"Hey!" Cody said back. "Where are you?"
"I'm in the front of the building with my mom and Meredith," I told him.
"Okay, come around the left side of the building. There's a door," He said.
"Who are you talking to?" My mom asked.
"I'm just talking to one of the workers at the radio station. He's telling me where we should enter," I partially lied. "Follow me."
"Sorry, I had to explain something to my mom," I told Cody.
"It's alright," He responded.
"Well I'm almost there, so I'll hang up now, okay?"
"Okay, see ya," Cody excitedly said.
We both hung up.
I walked to the left side of the building, my mom and Meredith following closely behind.
I was surprised at all the people here. There was quite a long line.
We turned the corner and I saw the door. It was cracked open a bit.
I grabbed it and walked in. My mom and Meredith follow me in. By now Meredith was jumping off the walls.
Cody was standing right there. We ran over to each other and hugged.
"Heeeyy!" Cody said. "How are you?"
"Hey, I'm good. Happy birthday!" I told Cody.
We let go of each other.
I gave Cody the present Meredith and I had made on Wednesday.
"What's this?" Cody asked.
Meredith jumped in. "It's a gift Shannon and I made you for your birthday."
"Hey, Meredith," Cody went and hugged her.
"Oh my god. YOU KNOW MY NAME?" Meredith yelled. She hugged him tightly.
"Yeah, of course!" Cody said.
Meredith let go. "Now open your present!"
The gift was mostly from Meredith, she thought of the idea of what to get him.
Cody opened it up and looked at it. "Wow! I love it.Come here girls!"
We gave Cody the picture we took the hotel together, framed it, and put a note on the back of it.
He held his arms out and we hugged him.
"Happy birthday, Cody," Meredith said.
"Come on, let's all go to the dressing room," Cody said. He gave me the picture to hold for now. He grabbed onto both of our hands. He winked at me. I smiled back and leaned on his shoulder.
Meredith was in paradise. You could just tell.
My mom followed us back to the dressing room.
The crew was all there. Meredith started to freak out. I'm pretty sure it was because Alli was there.
"Oh my god, Alli!" Meredith screeched.
"Hey, you must be Meredith," Alli said walking over to her.
Meredith nodded unable to speak.
"Nice to see you, Meredith," Alli leaned in for a hug.
Meredith hugged her back. "Is this really happening right now?"
Alli laughed at her. "Yes, this is happening!"
"How long do we have before the show starts?" My mom asked.
"About three hours," Cody responded to my mom. "Hey, I have an idea. Why don't you and my parents go eat someplace? You can show them around."
"Great idea!" My mom said. "Where are they?"
"Hi, I'm brad," Brad introduced himself walking over to my mom and shaking her hand.
"And I'm Angie," Angie introduced.
"Hi, I'm Mary," My mom said.
My mom and Cody and Alli's parents then left to eat. Des Moines has some great little restaurants to eat at.
Cody, Alli, Meredith, and I went into Cody's separate dressing room to talk and relax. Cody's hand was still intertwined with mine.
I let go of his hand and put the picture we gave Cody on a table in the room. Cody went and sat down on the couch in the room.
I looked to see what Meredith and Alli were doing. They were taking pictures with each other and posting them on instagram, twitter, and gifboom. They seemed to get along well.
I sat down on the couch next to Cody.
"So, tell me. How do you keep on continuously traveling?" I asked him.
"Yeah, it's hard, but I love seeing my fans. They're the best, the whole reason I do what I do," Cody responded.
"Naww, they appreciate you so much, too. I should know, because of that weirdo over there, Ahaha!" I pointed to Meredith. She was making a funny face. Cody laughed, too. "You know, you save people all over the world."
"Oh yeah? How do I do that?" Cody questioned.
"You prevent a lot of teens from suicide. When no one's there from them, they turn to you. You make them feel like they matter with your music," I told him.
He really was incredible. His words spoke to girls that think they're ugly and aren't worth anything or get bullied.
"Yeah, it's crazy to think about that!" Cody said shocked. He went back to holding my hand.
We continued to talk and so did Alli and Meredith. They could really be best friends. They were exchanging fashion tips, I think. Meredith was just so incredibly happy. I don't think I've ever seen her happier.
