Meredith had slept over Friday night. We were still in my room. It was around 10:00am.
I got a phone call.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hey, babe," It was Cody.
"Hey, what's up?" I perked up.
"Is that Cody?" Meredith shrieked.
"Shh," I told her.
"I was, uh, thinking about something," Cody said.
"Yeah, what is it?" I asked.
"Before I go on my UK tour, I'm going back to L.A. and get a couple days off before I leave. I was wondering if you would want to fly out to L.A. to see me," Cody told me.
Cody wants me to go to L.A. to see him? Meredith will kill me if she doesn't get to come...
"I'd love to, Cody! But can Meredith come, too?" I asked.
"Great! Yeah, of course she can come. Alli would love it if she did!"
"Wait, what? Can I go where?" Meredith squealed.
I held up my pointer finger, telling her to wait.
Meredith jumped up and down with excitement.
"Yay! Okay, when?" I asked Cody.
"The week of February 11th, so in about four weeks," He said.
"Okay, but I don't think I can wait that long," I giggled.
"Me either," He laughed. "Oh, by the way, I'm paying for your tickets."
"Aww, Cody! Really? Thank you so much," I said in awe.
"No problem. So I'll see you then, babe?" He responded.
"Yeah, of course. See you then! Talk to you later," I said.
"Yeah, bye," He said.
"Byeee," I waited for him to hang up.
"So?" Meredith shouted.
"Meredith, get ready for February 11th. We are going to L.A.!" I told her.
"L.A.! Cody wants us to go to L.A.! GAHH!" Meredith jumped around in circles. She grabbed my hands and twirled me around. "You're literally the best friend ever!"
"No, Cody's the best friend ever. He's even paying for the flight," I informed her.
"What?" She screeched.
"Yeah, I know!" I screeched back.
"I gotta go call my mom!" Meredith said searching for her phone.
"Okay, I'm gonna go tell my mom, too. I'll be back," I told Meredith.
I went downstairs. My mom was in her office.
"Hey, mom. Can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Hey, Shannon. Good morning! Sure," She said.
"Okay, so Cody asked Meredith and I to come to L.A. and stay at her house. Can I go?" I asked her.
She was thinking.
"Please? They offered to pay even," I begged.
"Oh, I can't let them pay," She said.
"But they want to," I said.
She thought about it again.
"Well, okay, I guess. I'm going to have to talk to Brad or Angie first though," She said.
"Thank you so much, mom!" I gave her a hug. "I'll give you Alli's number and you can talk to Angie and Brad that way."
"Oh, don't worry about that. I have Angie's," She smiled.
Wow. My mom has Angie's number. I
guess they are closer than I thought.
Meredith came barreling down the stairs.
"My mom said I can go!" She screamed.
"Yay!" I screamed back. "Let's go back upstairs."
We walked back to my room.
"My mom's gonna go call Angie," I said sitting on my bed.
"Your mom has Angie's number?" Meredith's mouth dropped.
"I guess they're better friends than we thought," I said.
"Uh, yeah," she said. "Wow, is this really happening?" Meredith laid down on the floor.
"I was thinking the same thing," I leaned back and laid on my bed.

After Meredith left, my mom talked to Angie for quite some time. I wasn't really listening to their conversation though, but afterward my mom said that I could definitely go.
"So, what were you guys talking about," I asked my mom.
"Oh, just mom stuff. You wouldn't be interested. I was thinking of going to L.A. with you guys to hang out with Angie," My mom said it as if it was no big deal.
"Well, that's a great idea," I told my mom.
"Too bad I think I have too much work. I'll try to get it done," she sighed.
Truth is that I really did want my mom to go. I think her and Angie would have a great time. Plus, my mom probably wouldn't check up on me as much if she went, too.

The four weeks I had to wait were probably the longest of my life. I had to do extra homework for school, because I'd be gone that week. It wasn't fun.
My mom decided to go. She had gotten all the work she needed to get done.
I called Cody before we were going to leave to pick up Meredith and go to the airport.
"Hey, Codes," I said.
"Hey, Shannon! Are you leaving for the airport yet?" Cody asked.
"Yeah, just about to leave to pick up Meredith," I said.
"Can't wait to see you!" He said happily.
"Same!" I told him.
"Have you been to L.A. before?" Cody asked.
"I've been to see my family down there, but I didn't really see much," I told him.
"Well, I'll have to show ya around then," Cody sweetly said.
"That'd be lovely," I said back.
"Shannon, we have to go!" My mom yelled.
"Oh, well I gotta go my mom's calling for me," I said to Cody.
"Alright. I'll see you soon," Cody said.
"Yep, see you soon. Byee," I said and hung up the phone.
I grabbed my suitcase and went downstairs.

We picked up Meredith and headed for the airport.
The flight was only two hours. It was a direct flight, so it wouldn't be so bad.
I was ready to be in the California sun.
