The next day, I was talking with the Baker Brothers at their house when Alex and Mimble came by. They saw us over by a tree and walked over to us.
"Hey, guys," he said.
My friends and I stopped talking to look at my brother. "Hey, Alex," said Carlos. Then he looked at Mimble. "Who's that?"
"Oh, this is Mimble, said Alex. "I did an experiment on her yesterday."
"Really?" asked Ralphie.
"Of course," said Alex. "I inserted a voice chip into her, then I gave her powers, just like my sister, only I didn't put a voice chip into my sister." He then asked Mimble to say something.
"Hello," she said.
"Nice," I said.
"So, what are her powers?" asked Carlos.
"They're the same twelve powers that my sister has," said Alex.
I was shocked. "What?!" I exclaimed. "You're joking, bro."
"I'm not joking, sis," said Alex. "She really does have the same powers as you."
"Really?" I asked.
Alex nodded.
"That's so cool!" said Ralphie.
"It sure is," said Carlos.
I then knew that we didn't figure out what my weakness was, so I told my brother about it.
"You're right, sis," said Alex. "We didn't figure out your weakness yet. I think I have some mustard gas in the back of my car, and I think a fire should help too. I'll go get the mustard gas while you guys get a fire going."
"You got it, Alex," I said.
"We'll get the wood!" said the Baker Brothers.
"Then I'll start the fire with my lasers," I said.
We got right to work. The Baker Brothers got the wood, and Alex got the mustard gas. I lit the wood with my lasers, then Alex opened the valve on the mustard gas. Right away, I felt weak, for I grabbed my shoulder and fell to my knees.
"Yup," I said weakly. "Carbon Monoxide and mustard gas is definitely my weakness."
Ralphie never heard of Carbon Monoxide, so he asked his brother what it was.
"It's smoke, bro," said Carlos.
"Oh, right," said Ralphie.
"Is there anything we can do to get Lucy out of pain?" asked Carlos.
"I don't know," said Ralphie. He turned to Mimble. "Any ideas, Mimble?"
"Nope," said Mimble. "I have no idea on what to do."
"I think Alex has an idea," I said, still weak. "He might know what to do." I turned to my brother. "Am I right, bro?"
"You're right, Lucy," said Alex. "I have a new potion that might work. It's in my car. Let me go get it."
Alex went to his car, got the potion out of his bag, then returned to me where I was getting weaker by the minute. He pulled the cork on the potion and handed it to me. I then drank it, and within a few minutes, I was back to being me, full of strength and energy.
Carlos looked at his watch. "Man, I gotta get going," he said "I got homework to do for one of my college classes."
"What subject is it?" I asked.
"English," said Carlos. "I'm not the best at it, but it has to get done."
"You're right, bro," said Ralphie. "You don't want to fail that class."
