My name is Lucy Marie Riber. I know that my story is really long, but I think that you'll want to hear the whole story. Well, here it is. It was a beautiful day in my hometown of Lansing, Michigan. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the temperature was perfect for a game of baseball. It was the beginning of summer, a great time to have picnics at the park. I have a feeling that you might be wondering where I'm at right now, so I'll tell you. I was in my room, playing on my Nintendo 3DS XL. One of my favorite games to play on it was Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir. I was just starting to play it when my brother, Alexander E. Riber (Alex for short), came into my room wearing his white lab coat, for he was a scientist.
"Hey, Lucy," he said.
"Hola, hermano," I said. That's "Hey, bro" in spanish, and Alex can understand spanish.
"What are you doing?" asked my brother.
"Just playing my 3DS XL," I told him.
"Don't tell me what game you're playing, for I'm going to guess. Happy Feet 2?"
"Nope. Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir."
"Fiddlesticks! Not even close!"
"It was a good guess, though."
"Yeah, you're right. Hey, I need some help down in my lab. I have an experiment that I need to test, and the thing is, I have no one to test it on. Do you want to help me?"
That caught my attention. "Sure," I said. "I haven't been in your lab in ages."
"Sweet biscuits!" said Alex. "Now, before we go to my lab, I have to let mom know where we are."
"Okay," I said. "I'll be in the living room waiting for you."
"Sounds fair," said Alex.
I sat down on the couch in the living room as my brother went into mom's room. She was working away on her computer when Alex walked in.
"Hey, mom," he said.
Mom looked up from what she was doing and looked over at my brother. "Oh, hey, Alex," she said.
"I have a question to ask you," said Alex. "Can I take Lucy down to my lab to help me with an experiment?"
"Sure you can," said mom. "I don't mind."
"Sweet biscuits! Thanks, mom."
"You're welcome, Alex."
Just then, mom's phone rang. She answered it, and it turned out that my dad was calling. He called because there was a vehicle accident on the highway, and that it might take him a bit longer to get home.
"Okay, I'll tell him," mom said into the phone. She hung up, and told Alex about the situation. Alex understood what happened, then asked mom what time dad was coming home.
"He said that he'll be home around 5:30," said mom.
"Okay," said Alex. "Thanks, mom."
"No problem, son," said mom.
Alex then came into the living room, and told me that it was okay to go to his lab. I was excited to hear that. Alex and I then went down to the basement, where the lab was at. Alex then put the passcode in to open the lab door, and we entered the lab. As soon as we were in the lab, I saw the experiment: Super Serum. I wasn't sure if it would work on me, for I was starting to have second thoughts. Then I saw what I most dread: a syringe. I was not a fan of syringes, but since I was Alex's test monkey (just a saying for someone being tested on), I had to be brave.
"Are you ready?" asked Alex.
"I think so," I said nervously.
"Great," said Alex. He grabbed the syringe, inserted the needle of it into the serum, and drew out five milliLiters of serum into the syringe as I sat in a chair. I then rolled up my sleeve, and I cringed when Alex inserted the needle into my skin, for it did hurt, but not too much. Alex then injected the serum into my bloodstream, took the needle out of my skin, and put a Band-Aid where he injected me with the serum. I was glad that was over.
