I locked eyes with Hawk as I looked around the strip mall dojo. I broke the eye contact when I saw Miguel, my only friend so far. I didn't know they trained at Cobra Kai. I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard heavy footsteps approach me. He looked familiar, and his scent, like cigars, gave it away.

It's good to see you, John Kreese.

"I would've been disappointed if you didn't show," said the sensei.

"I would be disappointed if I didn't get a chance to be here, today."

"It would be embarrassing to miss out on the best of the best. You look like you have experience, but to come here.." He placed his hand on my shoulder, and I made sure that my eyes never left his. "We need to see where you are at."

"Give me the best."

"Hawk!" He called.

"Yes, Sensei?" He asked.

"Show her what you are made of, no mercy," He smirked.

That man's smirk was scary, I'll be honest. It's a look that someone trying to kill you would give.

It's badass.

Hawk shared the same smirk as Sensei Kreese as we walked to the center of the mat.

"Hello, beautiful, are you.." he got into a stance, "are you stalking me?"

"If that's what you're into," I smiled.

He rolled his eyes, "don't act interested."

We put our fists up and planted our feet so we were in a fighting stance.

"Ready?!  Ai!" The taller man yelled.

I sent a kick to his nose, making it bleed. He sent a punch to my face, but I caught it and flipped him over. I had him in an arm lock. I could've snapped his arm right then and there. But I didn't. I didn't want to hurt one of Cobra Kai's 'best students'.

Give me a break.

He didn't even touch me.

"Do you have a name?" Kreese chuckled.

"Scarlett, Scarlett Carina." My green orbs were fixated on his body, he looked hurt, and I felt bad for him.

Just kidding.

"Where did you learn those moves?" He asked, impressed.

"I took karate back when I lived in Nevada, 4 years of practice," I stated.

"Have you won any championships or tournaments?" He asked again, like this is a survey. Or an interview.

"8 in total, Sensei." I replied. Everyone's face turned from impressed to worried. "There are two tournaments every year in the state. I have won each and every one." I smiled at him, "are you proud of me, sensei?"

He smiled too.

"You on the team Ms. Carina. Class dismissed. Tomorrow is a Saturday. Come her at 8 AM, anyone that comes here later than that is kicked from the dojo until further notice. We are going to be doing some advanced training," He stated. Everyone bowed and packed up their things. "Oh, and wear old clothes. Clothes that you're alright with getting.. dirty."

"Yes, sensei."

"Hey!" A girl yelled. I turned around and saw two girls. I only knew one of them. Her name was Aisha and she was in my Biology class.

They seem nice.

"Hello," I grinned.

"I'm Tory," She stated. "You?"

"Scarlett," Is all I said.

"What you did to Hawk back there was so cool, and you won a karate championship 8 times?!" She asked.

I could tell that we were very different but the same. We were both confident girls and we didn't back down from a fight. I can tell just by the way she acted. She was outgoing. I liked that. We talked for a while and became pretty good friends. I talked to Aisha too but I already knew her.

I am glad that I made more friends.
