As Splinter, Raphael, Donatello & Leonardo with the Mutanimals were searching for the missing Michelangelo all over New York.
He awoke in the back of the van Donnie had placed him before Karai and jumped in and driven him out of harms way ahead of the explosion, she took him to a alley way. She had spotted the turtles come out of the man hole in this alley previously when tailing them so figured Mikey's underground home was down there somewhere.
She opened the back of the van and said to Mikey "You think you could get home by yourself or you wanna wait here for your brothers here?",
"um my leg's broken sis, can you help me to the lair?" Mikey said, he remembered what he had learned from about Karai's father and felt showing her Splinters pictures would convince her,
"I'm not your 'sis' but rather your enemy or at least your fathers nemesis" Karai replied,
"but that's where you are wrong... but will you help me home, pleeeaaassse" Mikey begged,
"How exactly? Do you expect me to carry you? And into a stinking sewer no-less?" Karai asked him,
"Just support me, on the side of my bad leg and I can hop there with you helping me, we can do it, the smells not bad once in the lair" Mikey decided, Karai wasn't so confident it was a good idea, either him trying to walk or her going down there.
"even if you can get there, why show me where your home is, isn't that kinda dumb? Karai suggested,
"I have my reasons sis" Mikey said again, Karai could see Mikey was struggling to stay awake and felt he probably wasn't in his right mind so chose not to fight him on this and so agreed not to argue over the 'sis' thing.
He got out of the van with Karai supporting his side with her arms around his, he limped his way down as they went underground, Mikey's leg was giving him agonizing pain making him feel faint but he persevered he was determined he would make it.
They finally reached the turnstiles "home sweet home" Mikey gasped as he grabbed them to support himself as he pushed through them,
Karai's eyes widen in shock she didn't expect them to have a nice home as this, well except the smell that is, "Well I got you here so I'll just take off before your Rat-man father gets here" Karai told him,
"no wait, please just wait a minute, I want to show you something" Mikey begged,
"What?" Karai asked,
"You know that picture of got of your mother?" Mikey asked,
"Yeah what of it" Karai replied,
"help me through to Sensei's Dojo and you'll see?" Mikey said, dreading the pain moving would cause but feeling he must do it, she needed to know.

Mikey hobbled into the Dojo with Karai, he gently sat down onto the floor and pointed to Splinters pictures of Tang Shen & Miwa on the wall and the full photo of the torn version Karai had always kept she could see also, she was stunned.
