A Dark Deception

Family

Mikey was sitting on a cot in Donnie's lab he had his leg reset and a cast put on it by Dr Donnie, he also had strapping on his ribs, it was uncomfortable but necessary Donnie had told him, Mikey was glad to be home in with his family again, Donnie was working on his experiments he had something going on but in truth not able to focus on anything other than Mikey's needs and that bombshell about Karai, Raph came in with Mikey's orange mask he slipped it on Mikey's face.

"There now you look like Mikey again" Raph declared, Raph had carried Mikey's mask ever since he had found it and put it where it belonged. 

"Thanks bro, hey why is so warm" Mikey replied, 

"Coz I have been carrying it my shell since I found it so I could put back where it belongs and here I got you something" Raph replied handing Mikey a new comic book he'd got for him, 

Mikey gasped in delight as he immediately threw himself into a hug with his big brother and opened his gift.

"Is Sensei ok?" Donnie asked Raph, 

"not really, he not saying much, that was quite a shocker, I can't believe it either" Raph replied, 

"Do you think I shouldn't of said anything?" Mikey asked wondering if he did the right thing given all the upset it caused, 

"Of course you did Mikey, families don't lie to each other or keep secrets like that" Raph told him, with a pat on the head,

The three turtles shared a group hug taking comfort in each other during these unsettling times.

Splinter was in the dojo still trying to process the bombshell that Shredder had stolen his baby daughter and raised her, Leo was too, the girl he had a crush on and feelings for was his own fathers daughter and therefor sister though fortunately not blood related, but still.... 

"Father why do you suppose Karai left, she belongs here now, with us.... you?" Leo thought aloud, 

"She may want answers from The Shredder and an explanation for his actions" Splinter said quietly, 

"But what if he turns on her, stops her coming back, isn't it risky to let her go alone?" Leo asked, 

"that I do not know my son so we must wait for Miwa to return in her own time & then get answers as to her intentions, I shall be in my room if you need me" Splinter said as he left the dojo. 

 Leo left the dojo to join his brothers who were still together in the lab.

Leo came in to the lab see Raph sitting with Mikey one side and Donnie the other side of him,  Mikey was looking through his new comic and chatting away about it to his brothers, enjoying a brief moment of distraction. 

"Got room for one more?" Leo asked as he pulled up a stool and sat down, 

"I guess so" Mikey grinned, now in high spirits, 

"Where's Sensei Leo?" Donnie asked, they were all worried about their father after the revelation earlier, 

"in his room, most probably meditating" Leo replied, 

"should we be doing something?" Raph asked, 

"like what?" Donnie wondered, 

Donnie shrugged, he didn't know really,
