WhiteCaptain: Unexpected

  He finally did it.

  He finally had all that he wished for. A wife, a child. Even his parents were well and happy in their old age.

  He finally got the happiness he wanted. To live with his own little family, happy and satisfied with all the money that could support them for years to come.

  But he never expected this.

  No, he never did. Never would have. He never expected it all to end with just one thing.

  This psychopath.

  This man who hurt his beloved so much that he ought to wander as a spirit on Earth for billions and trillions years.

  His entire life, he never expected the scene of him calling out to him, hurt and ruined. Begging him to run with their little boy. Begging him to leave without him.

  He never wanted him to sacrifice himself to save them from that psycho, that man.

  But he did it anyways.

  In one day, his world full of colour dulled down to depressing grey.

"Papa, where's Dada?"

  Now he looks at the child staring at him with curious eyes. The creation of the madman, the forced creation between that monster and his world. He stares at the eyes, in the exact same colour of that monster's, filled with innocence and naivety.

I'll take care of him, Cap.

Wait for me up there okay?

"Dada... Dada's gone somewhere far far away... High up in the sky."

  The child's eyes lit up in amazement, oblivious of his Papa's inner turmoil. "Woah! Can I go there too?"

"When you're older, you'll be able to go where Dada is..."

"Then would Papa go too? And leave me here?"

I wish I could, but who would take care of you?

"Papa will go when you're old enough to take care of yourself, so be a good boy okay?"

"Okay! Can we get ice cream?"

"Sure!" Hopefully, his fake tone would fool the child.
