Kit: This one shot features my two OCs, whom I made especially for a BL pairing XD

Also, something really shitty: I went back to my original story I wrote them in (a draft) and I found that a third of it is gone!!! Like oh my god, my precious work. /(ㄒoㄒ)/~~

Edit: Nvm, I found a complete version in Google Docs. Guess my forgetful ass just wiped out the memory of me transferring it...

"No! I forbid you to go!"

The man in black embroidered robes had an angered and frustrated expression, his hands grabbing onto to AnNian as if his life depended on it. It did not hurt, not one bit.

"Your Highness, it has been decided." AnNian heard his cold and smooth voice speak out, staring straight at the prince. Was it him speaking? Who was he in this dream?

"No, it has not. I have not agreed yet, you're not leaving me. I don't allow it." The prince looked like he was about to breakdown but was holding it in, eyes full of despair and unwillingness. He felt himself free his trapped limbs before leaving with one sentence.

"Goodbye, Your Highness."

----

AnNian woke up staring at the ceiling, remembering his recurring dream. The prince and 'him', quarrelling in the prince's royal study, him leaving with that same sentence. Cold and emotionless.

When did the dreams start? Right... When he chanced upon a book regarding the Sixth Reigning Emperor of Yin Dynasty. It was his biography, it had his story from birth till death, even his Shadow Guards were included. Although the book did not say much about the Shadow Guards since they were a mysterious unit, AnNian remembers a section of it.

'Of the twelve shadows guards assigned to the Second Prince, five were chosen to carry out their final mission. The mission that would lead to the Second Prince's successful victory for the throne. This mission was a suicide mission to bring down the last of the Second Prince's enemies, his Fifth Brother. Although details of the mission are not recorded down, some eyewitnesses such as the Second Prince's servants have recorded down a few events regarding the fateful day in their personal diaries (those which have not been burned). According to one such diary, a huge fight occurred in the Second Prince's study the day of the mission, supposedly regarding the Second Prince's most highly regarded shadow guard. This guard never returned from the mission, as did the other four and their targets.'

AnNian did not know why he kept dreaming the same thing but he knew it had something to do with the Second Prince. There was a high chance that it was their past life and he was the shadow guard who served the Second Prince. However, it was a matter of the past, there was no need to ponder on it anymore.

Things of the past should not be mentioned anymore. They have new lives, new memories, new identities. AnNian does not know the prince, the prince does not know him.

----

It had been eight months and the dreams are still occurring, but it wasn't the same dream anymore. Sometimes it would be the fight, sometimes it would be the mission itself, sometimes... Sometimes even small daily interactions between the shadow guard and the prince. They would do fun things together, although it was mostly initiated by the prince, AnNian could tell that 'he' enjoyed it too. 'He' liked the prince. Even if it was only a little strand of love, it was love.

But 'he' knew it was impossible for the both of them. One was meant to be the Emperor, the other was meant to guard from the shadows until death. They were both men, which was highly rejected during those times where society was extremely conservative.

Reliving your past life's memories for months, every single day, does things to you. Even if it were AnNian who always felt numb to emotions. The man found that he fallen.

  Again.

For a guy who he will never meet in this life.

Hoping to rid himself of the dreams and his feelings, AnNian thought to burn the book. After all, he had left it on his shelf after reading it. Maybe all this was because there was a curse on the book, maybe it would go away after he burned it.

The twenty-three year old brought the book with him, together with a lighter and a metal can, up the mountain closest to his apartment building. He found an area with nobody, placed the book in the box, lit up a page.

Watching the ashes get blown up by the mountain breeze, AnNian whispered out under his breath, "Goodbye, Your Highness... May you find happiness."

GuangSong stood there, eyes trained on the man sitting under the pavilion shelter, admiring his perfect back view and soft black hair as the setting sun gave him a glowing halo.

He stepped forward and brought him into his arms, leaving a long-awaited kiss on his forehead.

"Xiao Nian, welcome home."

To him, there was never a 'Goodbye', there was only 'I will be back'.
