On the 12th hour of the 1st day of October 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth. This was unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and adventurer, resolved to locate and adopt as many of the children as possible.
He was able to locate forty-two of the children but was only able to adopt seven of the children. He searched for the final child but he never seemed to find her, it was almost as if she didn't exist and he was almost sure that she had died, perhaps from complications of birth. So after a few weeks, he gave up on finding Number Forty-Three.
If only he would've known that 26 years in the past, Number Four, his adopted son, would be madly in love with Number Forty-Three, the missing child.
