Sage.

That voice sounded ten times colder than it did seven years ago, causing a shiver to go down my spine. This isn't who I think it is.. right? He wanted to leave this place as soon as he was graduated. I look down at the hands on my waist. These can't be his, his hands do not have tattoos.

At least not seven years ago, dumb bitch.

Correct, but Atlas, sweet innocent Atlas and tattoos? Never. I mean he could be stubborn most of the time, but him and being all macho with that sort of shit? Nope. The man with his front pressed against my back can't be Atlas.

But what if he is? Stop being a coward and turn around.

I suck in a breath and start turning around when he whispers again.

''Don't.''

I freeze in my spot and open my mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. And for one second, I don't even mind. A feeling I can't recognize floods over me. Here I am, enjoying my back being pressed against Atlas- no, a stranger's front. The best part? My boyfriend is probably looking for me right now.

I try to turn around again but stop again when his grip tightens on waist.

''I said don't, God why did you have to return again when I finally got back on my track again'' he mutters.

Return? What is this stranger talking about, how does he know?

It's Atlas you slow cow and hello! Here's a wakeup call for ya, he is holding you in his arms right now. Your boyfriend, I repeat, your boyfriend is probably looking for you! Now open your goddamn mouth and say something!

Stupid inner voice. ''Let go'' I say while scolding myself for not sounding powerful enough.

He sucks in a breath. ''Why did you leave?'' he asks and am I wrong or was there a hint of hurt in his voice?

''Let. Go.'' I say repeated after I trusted my voice enough to speak.

''Why would I? You don't look too upset'' he whispers in my ear before he turns me around. Shock taking over I pushed the button that alerts Douglas. Once fully turned I don't dare to look up to him. ''Look at me when I speak to you'' he says coolly. I still make no move and keep my gaze fixed on the ground.

That clearly that wasn't a good move cause next thing I know, one of his large hands grabs my chin. The grip just not tight enough to hurt. When my eyes finally set on his face the air leaves my body.

Holy son of a bitch.

His once soft brown hair now turned dark and messy. His features prominent and perfect. Sharp jawline, high cheekbones, plump lips and a long scar running from just above his right eyebrow to his cheek. His once small body turned into one of a tall muscular man covered in tattoos except his face, easily towering over me. And then his eyes. The eyes I once knew were gone. I mean, the soft blue colour still there, but the kindness replaced with a cold emotion. The one my uncle holds but ten times colder.

''Why did you come back'' anger now taking over his features.

''I- ''

''Get your hands off her right now'' a familiar voice calls from next to us, causing both our heads to turn.

Douglas.

Once I received the message from Sage, I immediately alerted Nysa and told her to stand at the main entrance to see if she leaves. I, however, went straight to the dancefloor to check if she was there.

Well take a guess, she wasn't.

I looked around while several people bumped into me. Muttering low 'sorry's' and 'excuse me's' I made my way to the side and finally spotted Sage. Relief flooded over me to see her alright, but that was before I saw the man with one of his hands on her waist and the other under her chin. Jealousy flooded over me.

I should be the only one holding her like that.

But why didn't she move away?

With long strikes I was at their side in no-time.

''Get your hands off her right now'' I said with a loud voice, causing both of their gazes switch to me.

''Douglas...'' Sage whispers. I averted my gaze back to the man.

''Didn't you hear me? Get. Your. Hands. Off. Of. Her.'' I said while taking a few steps towards them in between the words.

He fixes his gaze once again on Sage. ''Who is this?'' He says, with a deep voice.

''He- ''

''Her boyfriend, now let her go. '' I cut her off and switched my annoyed gaze back to him.

For a second his features lace with what it seems like disgust. ''You,'' he looks at sage, then back at me ''and him? Together?''

''Yes? You finally get it? Great, now let her go before it gets ugly.'' I said annoyed as I take one last step to the motherfucker.

He chuckled, he fucking chuckled. ''Before it gets ugly huh? What is this? A joke?'' And before I could control myself, my fist made contact with his face.

Atlas.

He punched me, he actually punched me.

Did he have a death wish or anything?

Just take out your gun and you'll be done in a second.

As I grabbed my jaw, my other hand already moved over to the waistband of my pants with my gun tucked inside.

But then I remembered where I was and with who. Her. She can't fucking know that I'm in the fucking mafia and carry guns with me. So, I stop my hand and ball my fist. Ready to throw a punch.

What? Just because she can't know that I'm in the mafia doesn't mean I can't hurt him a little bit. Especially when the first punch wasn't even mine.

I'll just throw some punches at the fucker and scare him off a little.

I raise my fist and punch him straight on his nose. I hear a satisfying crack and throw another punch at his face. Once he is on the ground, I start throwing non-stop punches at his face. I feel something trying to pull me away, but I had no care in the world. It took more than that to pull me away from my fun.

However, the fucker somehow managed to turn me on my back with him on top of me throwing punches. I blocked most but some slipped through.

What the fuck am I doing?

With a new rush of adrenaline, I turned him around again, but while I was busy throwing punches again something stronger pulled me away from his face completely.

Once standing again I spit out blood that filled my mouth and turning my head slightly seeing that it was Dominic behind me. While still being held back by him, I switched my gaze to the guy on the ground with one hand clutching his nose and the other balled in a fist.

My gaze averted back to her, finding her already looking back at me.

With anger burning in my veins, I narrowed my eyes.

''Welcome back, Sage'' I said in a mocking voice before being dragged away by Dominic.
