My ass of a stepdad

I was laying down in my bed and I was playing on my phone(I know a 10 year old having a cell phone) that my mom got me for my birthday. I was so happy when I got my Samsung galaxy s6. I can text my friends and don't have to worry about my parents hearing my conversations. So I am texting my best friend Brittany Canos.

BRIT: hey girl, how is your weekend going so far?

ME: Same old, nothing to do. I am stuck in my house helping watch my little sisters as usual. I mean I love my sisters to death and am around them enough when I am out of school but the weekends are supposed to be my days so I can have time for me you know?

BRIT: yah I get it. Why don't they have a babysitter or have your grandma come and watch them so you can have time to yourself. You deserve that you know. You watch them right after you get out of school and stay up past 1am doing homework. You deserve some you time.

ME: I know maybe I can talk to my mom and maybe she can convince my sister's dad to let me hang out with you,but if we hang out it will have to be at grandmas. We hung out there last time. I just get more privacy at my grandmas. I mean my sister's dad is at work or with friends alot of the time but he comes home early sometimes and he is drunk and you don't need to see that.

BRIT: yea talk to your mom. you could always tell her the truth but tell her to tell him that you are going to spend the night at your grandma's. He wouldn't think anything less if you tell him that.

ME: your right.

So I put my phone in my pocket and walk around the house looking for my mom. I see my sister Cheyenne she is 3 years younger than i am.

hey sis, where's mom?" I ask

"She's in the backyard smoking a cigarette" she says.

"Thanks" I say and then I run in the backyard.

Once I get to the backyard I see my dog shot in the head and mom digging a hole and she looks at me and looks sad for me

M-o-m w-what happened?" I ask while crying

She comes to me and hugs me.

"Your stepdad said that someone shot her and he came out and found her like this" she says looking down.

"Mom, your lying. Why are you lying to me. I know your lying to me because you look down when your lying. So TELL ME WHAT REALLY HAPPENED. Sorry I didn't mean to yell it's just I'm really hurt and upset. I loved my girl Tiger. She was my world. I know ronnie was lying to you or you know what happened and are lying to me to keep me from getting hurt about why she was really shot now please tell me what really happened.

"Ok, so Ronnie was at the cellphone company store and he got the call logs and seen this one number was called like a billion times and you were on the phone with this said number for like 3 hours at a time each night and he said fine she wants to have a secret boyfriend i'll kill her dog and she won't lie to me again. I tried to tell him that if you had a boyfriend I would have known and he wouldn't listen to me and he just shot her. I have never seen him like that" mom says

"So he just killed my dog because he just assumed that I have a boyfriend. Mom you would be the first person to know if and when I have a boyfriend and I don't have a boyfriend. The person I was on the phone for 3 hours with is my best friend Brittany Canos. So he just killed my dog for no reason. Maybe if he would have asked me if I had a boyfriend all of this could have been avoided. He would have known if i had a boyfriend. He is always going through the cell phone company to check my messages so he would have seen that I was talking to some guy and it never showed that. It showed I was talking to Brittany but he doesnt care,but no I came out here to ask you if I could spend the night at grandma's and have Brittany over there and you just tell him i went to spend the weekend at grandma's.

"Yes and I am having grandma put you on her phone plan so this doesnt happen again" she says

"ok I'm gonna go pack" I tell her

I run inside and go straight to my room. I shut the door and I grab my blanket I always sleep with along with my tiger pillow. I grab my headphones, medicine and phone charger. I grab all the clothes I'm gonna need for the weekend. I zip up the bag and grab my phone and text grandma telling her I'm coming over and then I walk over to my mom's car and put my bag in the car and shut the door and start looking for my mom and I find her in the back yard, so I go to the backyard.

"Hey I'm ready can we go before he comes to try and talk to me and I'm in the mood where I will punch him in the face and not care what he does right now because of what he did to my dog. So can we please go?" I ask

"Yah sure" she says

We are in the car and we are leaving and while we are at a red light my phone beeps. I check my phone and see its a text from Brittany.

BRIT: is it a go?

ME: yes, but unil I get to grandma's I need you to call me or wait until I get to grandma's and then we can talk. You can start heading to grandma's tho and I'll be there shortly. bye." I said

" Baby girl, I am sorry about what happened to Tiger. I tried to get him to stop and just think about it and I tried to get him to be reasonable about it and he wouldnt listen. I even tried to get Tiger to bite him and she wouldn't do it. There was nothing i could do to stop it I'm sorry" she says.

"Mom, ik you tried and I want to thank you for that but I am not exaggerating when I say this, I hate him. I might not hate him forever but I do know that I hate him right now and it's best if I stay away from him for now because if I go anywhere near him right now all I will see is him shooting my baby girl(Tiger) in cold blood. She was never mean. She didn't have a mean bone in her body and she was only 1 years old so I don't get it. She didn't do anything to hurt anyone. She was never mean to anyone. She loved everyone,so if I do see him right now there is no telling what I would do to him. I would probably beat him in the face till he is blue in the face and needing to go to the hospital" I tell her with such rage

"ok baby girl i will see you sunday and when you get inside your new phone is already in there and grandma already switched you over to her plan all you have to do is transfer all your contacts and pictures and it will be all set and ready for you.

" ok will do bye love you" i say

I grab my bag and kiss her on the cheek and I wave as she drives back home. I walk inside and set my bag in the room I am usually in, and then I walk in the living room.

"Grandma where r u?" I ask.

"Im in the kitchen" she says

I start walking in the kitchen but first I hug grandpa and I notice he is watching baseball,and it's cardinals vs the cubs.

"Grandpa, whos winning?" I ask.

"Cardinals, now go see your friend. she's in the kitchen with your grandma. A/N this part isnt really important but i will tell you about my relationship with my grandpa. He is my rock, when I'm upset about anything I always go to him and grandma and I can trust them not to say anything to anyone about it unless it's bad that they have to. My grandpa is my world. I love him so much. i spend every weekend with him and grandma. Grandpa and I spend most of the time just watching baseball, basketball,football or his favorite show law and order svu together.
