Not Awkward, Just Not Comfortable

The house she would be staying at was far too ostentatious for her liking. It was ultra modern, sleek line's and no sense of homeliness. It felt like a display home from a new property development, nothing about gentrification was inviting to her.

Adrian looked to see her reaction, and was a little disappointed. He could see on her face that she didn't like it. It was confusing, the previous beta female had taken charge in picking the design for the Alpha home so he assumed it would be perfect.

"I'd honestly rather you stay in the spare bedroom at my place." She muttered. "At least then I could be comfortable." She thought he couldn't hear, forgetting for a moment what he was.

Adrian cleared his throat as they walked into the home. " So, why won't you tell me your name? While I enjoy your jokes, it would be nice to know."

She stared at him a moment. He had been a lot more patient than she'd anticipated, maybe she could tell him. Then again, maybe not.

"Bond, James Bobd." She turned away and walked further into the house.

"I'm going to just start making guesses soon." He grumbled as he followed her into the house.

She stared at him blankly, masking her own amusement. "Oh my gosh Adrian, you can't just assume someone's name."

He stiffened slightly at the sound of her voice uttering his name. He desperately wanted to hear it again, but he knew better than to be demanding.

"So, did you choose this place?" Georgia asked as she walked around.

"Actually, the previous beta female did." He said. "She felt it would be a good fit for me and whoever my mate turned out to be."

She turned to him. "Sorry to say, but she got it wrong."

Before they knew it, the evenings festivities had begun. It was a rather casual welcome to the pack affair, well at least it was for Heather who had decided a matching track suit, socks and slides were the way to go.

There Georgia met former alpha female, Giovanna Lupine. She was much taller than the the new Luna, much stronger, much more of a badass and much more smiley.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, we're all glad Adrian found you." She said warmly. Offering her hand for Heather to shake, which she did.

"Can't say I'm glad about being pulled into all of this, but I'm grateful to whoever made the food this evening." Georgia was usually one to be honest, she'd found that beating around the bush only seemed to cause more issues.

"Nevertheless, we are glad to have you. My hope is that you will both consummate your mateship soon and bare a fine pup or two." Giovanna said with a matter-of-fact tone. Georgia couldn't tell if she was serious or not.

While Adrian nodded along in agreeance, his mate couldn't stop the annoyed look that took over her features.

"Hold up." She said, raising her hand to halt whatever it is either of the Lupine were about to say. "First of all, my body my choice. I will carry a baby when I'm ready to, same goes for getting down and dirty." She said firmly. "Second of all, your hope being that Adrian and I have children and nothing else is insanely archaic and very much the opposite of what I expected from a single mother and alpha female. Now, whether you excuse me or not, I'm going to find a bucket of ice cream." With that she turned on her heel, walking away muttering to herself about old fogeys and getting with the times.

Giovanna approved immensely of the new soon-to-be Luna. She was a spitfire for sure, the perfect balance to her gentle souled son.

"There's a fire in her you won't see in many people or Luna's my son, best to let her come to you than back her into a corner." With a pat on her son's shoulder, she was off into the crowd of pack members, mingling and accepting their congratulations.

Georgia had absolutely no idea where she was going, just relying on her spidey senses to guide her to a freezer containing the real love of her life.

She finally stumbled across the kitchen where a few pack members were working.

"Can we help you, Luna?" A voice piped up.

She turned to see the guy that showed up at her house with Jay.

"Uh yeah, you guys got any ice cream?" She asked a little awkwardly.

"Sorry Luna, we don't. I'd be happy to go and get you some?" The man offered.

"Ben and Jerry's Phish Food, the biggest you can find please." She said with a wide grin. Before she could blink he was gone, off to find what his Luna requested.

While Georgia imagined her future self enjoying the ice cream, the pack were suddenly on high alert. Growls and frightened screams could be heard.

Adrian was immediately at her side. "We're under attack, I need you to get to safety with the beta female and the others, we will come to you when it is safe." He growled out, his form already changing. She didn't argue, she honestly had no chance of fighting any intruder off, best she could do was probably throw her slides at them, but the thought of them becoming a chew toy put her off the idea.

The beta female came to her, grabbing her hand and pulling her along. One final look at Adrian showed him watching her as he shifted into his beast before he launched himself at an enemy she couldn't see.

Georgia couldn't help but wonder, how in the world were they already under attack? She only just got here.

Am I that famous already? She could barely keep up with the beta female, but they made it to the packs safety bunker.
