"Well, warm welcome to you, Danny." I spoke. He nodded and flipped two fingers in the air, saluting my words.

His hands felt his way onto a stool and sat on it, looking around.

"I will- oh, have some of that cake, as well as a margarita." He said.

I asked which flavor and he replied with mango, which I gladly grabbed the ingredients for. Sam asked me for them, so I handed them to her. Then, I began to prepare to prepare it with a few strawberries because why not? Customer service is the best service, mhm, you betcha.

"So, what have you been up to huh?

"Not much, and you?" I asked.

He smiled and told Sam to speed it up with a whip of his fingers.

Then, Sam began the blender.

That's when shit got a little fucked up..

"Where the hell is that bastard." Danny said gripping tightly on my shirt, his hands practically crushing my clavicle.

"Um, who, what do you-" I managed to peep out while I could barely breath. He stared at me with daggers in his red eyes. Then, while Sam was blending the margarita with her back turned, he activated his quirk.

Fire. Just like Dabi's.

But red

"Dabi."

Shit.

Danny doesn't know. He wasn't at the funeral.

I didn't see him when I was with sam. So where the hell did he go?

But that's not the point. The pint is that Danny needs Dabi and I'm screwed. I have to tell him that Dabi is dead.

"Um, I hate to break it to you but-"

"Keith is very suspicious. He has gotten so odd and can barely keep alcohol down now. He doesn't smoke, doesn't vape. Doesn't even bring girls home anymore. He hasn't raced in weeks, I see his car in the garage all day. He recently bought a black car, y'know a regular looking one, and goes out 'til the break of dawn with it. I'm not sure where he is going, but I know what he is after; you. He has been stalking your Instagram. He has liked all of your photos and-"

"Wait, what?" I whispered. I was over-the-moon confused. "What is up with Keith? I thought he was liking my photos because he wanted to hang out. I mean, he is coming over to my house on the weekend,  and it's a Thursday." I told him.

His hands tightened around my burnt blouse, the fabric slowly falling back onto my bare chest, the black and crumbling shirt lit with red fire smoking it.

Danny's red and powerful glare of honesty stopped, his eyes returning back to a burning blue. His jaw was on the floor now, his eyes bug-wide. "You good?" I asked. He set me back onto my feet and he grabbed where he burned my shirt and ripped me forward. I fell into to his arms as he tugged at the burnt fabric.

He managed to rip the hot part of, leaving me with an uncomfortable opening in my shirt. He set his warm hands on my shoulders and pushed me out, setting me comfortable in front of him. "Sorry. I know that your Dabi's property and all, his possession or whatever, but I didn't want to hurt you. At least I didn't mean to." He said, wiping off my chest.

A tear built up in my eye, but he noticed before I could wipe it away. "Hey! I apologized, I apologized! I'm so sorry, okay? I didn't mean to hurt you!" He whispered. He pulled me close, his scent filling my nose. I hugged him back, the warmth of my other best friend helping out my mood. I cried in his shirt for a few minutes, Sam long-finishing with the margarita by then. She didn't hear us, thinking I was in the kitchen or something, so she tended to picking up the bathrooms.

I got out of his grip, the warmth of him leaving, and I looked at him. "Thank you. I just miss him, y'know?" I realized my mistake. My slip up. I didn't want Danny to know that Dabi was gone. I mean, they were best buds.

"What? Miss Keith? He is an asshole. He is just a lying asshole. Don't pay any attention to him. Or do. I don't k ow, I just needed to tell you what up. Maybe Dabi can do something? Y'know has fire power is much stronger than mine." He laughed out, rubbing and patting down my firm shoulders.

"No. I miss Dabi." I hushed out. He looked at me.

"Why? Wait, Did he leave you? I mean, he hasn't texted me in weeks. Was this a new thing or did this happen in the last two months or so?" He politely requested. He walked over to his stool and sat down, drinking up his margarita.

"He died.." I whispered as I followed him.

Danny looked and me and activated his quirk again, melting the plastic straw and crushing the glass on the floor.

His hair and hands were on fire, his tongue about to spur put silver. Shit. I pissed him off. I think..

Danny stood up and walked over to me, dropping the melted hot plastic and crushed, bloody glass onto the floor. His now red eyes burned into mine. "Looks like the little birdie around the block didn't make it to my door, eh? Damn. Well, I'm off Kana. Goodbye." He said, walking off.

The smoke detectors went off, causing sprinklers to light up the place with its water as Danny walked out. His bright red eyes looked at me again, staring with a tear dropping to the floor, and then he left. It looked like a scene from The Vampire Diaries or something.

"What the hell was that? Turn them of- what the hell happened to your t-shirt?!" Sam yelled as she ran around like a maniac.

Not giving her a glance, not turning my eyes and head at all, just kept my gaze at the door, I told her a lie.

I flat out told, my best friend of many years that I never lie to, a lie.

"I was making more cake for the booked night. My shirt caught on fire and I must've not noticed. Whoops."

"Well, don't do it again, okay?" Sam asked me. I nodded like I was in a trans. I could hear the obvious confusion in her voice. "Um..okay.." she finished as she grabbed a mop and handed me one. We began to mop up the wooden floors, making sure we go over with a rag or a towel so we could soak up all of the water before getting back to the grind.

Now, as I mopped, I was able to be tucked safely in my head.

I knew I wasn't supposed to be in my head, But one thing that I definitely knew wasn't supposed to be there either was the lingering thought that Danny was lying about Keith?

Was Keith up to something?

Was Danny even lying?
