"hints that he was warning you of something much more vile than you could imagine." He spoke.

..

..

Why does my life suck ass? seriously?

god.

" So, this note means something else?" i asked.

He nodded and set the clear and empty glass down with a clink.

i gulped down the rest of my drink and setting it down as well. " Keep going, if you will." I said. Sam nodded from the side of me.

He cleared his throat and swallowed some saliva, clicking his tongue and starting. "-Well, you see, this is the note. I took a photo of it in case it disappeared or a student took it or i threw it away by accident." Shota handled the computer with ease as he talked, pulling up a document with a few files in it, a spreadsheet with lots of information and a 4-page-long google doc. He clicked on the photo.jpeg and it tok him to a loading screen, then a crisp photo of the note he handed you at the crash site.

Flashback

I checked, my eyes glancing from Toga's chest to mine. Her chest was filled with glass. Her diaphragm wasn't moving.

She was gone. And there my boyfriend was. On the hood. His hand moved slowly while his head was behind  his arm. He reached through the glass and broke some of it, cutting his hand. I grabbed it, the shrapnel moving in my arm and making me uncomfortable.

"I'm right here. I'm right here." He said softly, his turquoise eyes looking back at me. His middle and index finger dipped into his palm and a sort of bloody white slip of paper was pulled from his coat. He placed it in mine and sunk back down to his previous position.

"Baby?" I spoke, my hand rubbing harshly on his to get his attention.

a ringing noise beeped loudly and slowly faded out like the i was in a hospital as the flashback ended. i blinked and water filled my waterline.

i looked at the photo on the computer screen and it read;

My dearest princess,
yes, i may be dead. i may be gone, but not forever. i will come back and see you. make sure to avoid them. at all costs, okay?
Sincerely, Touya "Dabi" Todoroki.

I looked away after reading it and looked at the tall, dark and handsome man.

" You see, this note has something in bold i noticed. He called you princess, correct? that was his norm?" Shota asked.

I nodded. He did the same, mimicking me and stuck out a pinky pointing to the screen. It was like he was highlighting the screen with his smallest finger.

" Ya see, you can see the black strokes of the pen are visible when he goes over certain words again. The ink is also fresh because the rain seeped into the page and caused it to drip, meaning he wrote this recently."

I was sort of confused, but it made some sense.

" Are you saying he knew he was going to die?" You asked, cupping and grabbing at your own hands with a worried expression.

" No, i'm saying someone forced him to die. and i think the number on the back has something to do with it." He spoke.

"What number on the back?" I questioned politely.

" You see how the ink is dripping? Well, if the ink would've had a small ring around it of greyish black, that would've meant that the rain hit the front of the card. But the ink is a bit see through, even though it's permanent blackest black. You can even see the ink lines when he went over this lining here, when he outlined 'my dearest princess' and ' make sure to avoid them at all costs'. This means that the card was flipped over at the time it began raining. So, a few detectives and I checked the weather and the exact time it began raining, which was around 9 and a half minutes before you woke up and saw your friend, Himiko Toga, and boyfriend, Touya "Dabi" Todoroki. And, you did say that you woke up-" He s said, Sam cutting him off once he finished with his very intelligent and interesting speech.

" 7:22PM. That when. The police said they found a surveillance camera from the homeowner that owned the property where the crash happened. The homeowner said that the camera was for finding coyotes that tried to eat his sheep." Sam said.

" How'd you know that?" Shota asked, i was also invested at why as well. " The police only told me and- right. You were there. Hm." He spoke. " Well, yes, that's true. The camera ended up not working though, it was busted around forty seconds before the crash happened, the homeowners dog hearing it and barking. We believe it was caused by a bolt of lightning, but the camera wasn't high enough voltage or high enough in the air." Shota said, reviewing the papers in front of him.

" Wait, was it the fence? Also, weren't we just coming here because of me becoming a hero alongside sam?" I asked. He looked up, pulling up his hair into a low bun, his fierce black eyes looking down at the sheets then making there way up my body.

" No, not because of the fence. The fence was wooden, not metal or bar wire or electrical. No voltage lines ran through it, either. So, we now think it was caused by a person. Also, we played the footage back and heard a car speeding, but you said the car he drove was white. Well, in the corner of the video, a bright blue car was speeding for about .94 seconds into the video then the imaging ended there."

" What does this mean?" Sam and i asked i. unison.

"Well, that's what we think the number on the back will tell us. Here," He said, clicking on the side button on the keyboard with his middle and ring finger, flipping the pen back to inbetween his pointer and middle.

"The number is wet, barely legible. But it isn't the handwriting, it's the rain. see? Ink everywhere and lines of greyish black around the ink."

[ (9-24) - 799 - 8243 ] - Jin Bubaigawara

The note read.

" Who is Jin Bubaigawara? Well, who is it?" i asked.

" That is why your becoming a pro. to figure out who it is." He spoke.

Wait a goddamn minute.

Just.. wait.

" I'm becoming an investigator my own case?!" I shouted.

..

..

" Yes. Yes you are, Kana Shin. And Samantha will be with you the entire time. You have 'til tomorrow, the first Sunday of the month to choose a name or overall give me an answer."

"To give you an answer on what?" I asked.

he leaned in close, his velvet voice humming and preparing to spill his secret.

" On whether or not you are going to help me figure out why your case is the hardest case i've ever had to deal with as a pro hero." Eraser hushed out.
