Everyone was surprised at how quickly Alfred seemed to warm up to not only being an uncle all of a sudden, but to Ivan, especially after finding out his engagement to Matthew. He was mostly glad that they weren't going to have a separated co-parenting thing at a time like that.

Admittedly he wasn't happy about it at first due to the circumstances. But calmed down, and explained that he didn't really have a right to be mad when they clearly took as much responsibility and care for the situation as possible. And when Ivan made it clear that he really loved Matthew and wanted to be a good partner and parent.

America🇺🇸: Oh, uh... Mattie? Kiku called France a little bit ago, so they'll get here sometime soon. I'll cover for you both if needed.

Matthew nodded.

Canada🇨🇦: Okay, thanks for telling me. We can't hide this forever. They might as well find out already.

Sure enough, when Ivan had left to get Matthew some food, Francis came in with Arthur trailing behind.

France went over and pulled Matthew into a hug.

Arthur noticed Matthew holding a bundle, and paused.

It was then that the baby squirmed in her blanket and let out a coo, spooking Francis until he saw her, and he gasped.

Matthew nodded. Francis just smiled and hugged him again, tears forming in the corners of his eyes.

France🇫🇷: Oh Matthieu... I wish I was there to help you...

Canada🇨🇦: It—It's okay... it's not like I necessarily wanted anyone to know initially anyway...

Arthur looked down.

Britain🇬🇧: Did you think we would react badly...?

Matthew shrugged.

Canada🇨🇦: When you met my partner, maybe... I'm sorry you had to find out like this...

Francis sat down and laid a hand on Matthew's forehead.

France🇫🇷: No, don't worry... you were in a tough spot, we all are. We could be in the setup for another worldwide war... you had every right to be cautious about something of this magnitude...

Britain🇬🇧: He is right, Matthew. Everyone is on edge, and they have a right to be. Don't apologize for trying to avoid a conflict. But I promise you, we will both be here to help you the rest of the way.

Francis smiled at the bundle and gently reached over to get a better look at her.

Matthew nodded.

Canada🇨🇦: For the most part. It got rough towards the end, but it's not like I didn't expect it.
