CHAPTER 3

Sidharth saw Shehnaaz coming out of the room looking for water.. She saw him talking to Kamla Tai..
“Kaam kyu nahi hai?” asked Sidharth.. “Lockdown me driver ki zarurat nai hai.. Mera beta ghar baitha hai.. Bahu aur uska ek chota beta hai.. Mai apni salary usko bhej deti hu kyu ke mai yaha rehti hu toh mujhe koi takleef nai hai..” said Kamla Tai..
“Aapka pota chota hai?” asked Shehnaaz.. “Haa, abhi 2 saal ka hai..” said Kamla Tai..
Shehnaaz looked at Sidharth and he knew what she wanted.. “Acha, aap khaa ke so jao.. Subhe milte hai..” said Sidharth and dragged Shehnaaz out of the kitchen..
“Sidharth, unko bola kyu nai ki hum usko as a driver rakh lenge. Maa ke liye..” said Shehnaaz as they entered the room..
“Shehnaaz, unko aisa nai lagna chahiye hum unpe koi Ehsaan kar rahe hai.. Aisa kuch situation banaenge aur unke bete ko izzat se kaam pe rakhenge taaki usko bura na lage.. Samjh na darling..” said Sidharth and Shehnaaz understood what he was trying to make her understand..
“Tu kitna door tak ka sochta hai..” said Shehnaaz, leaning towards him and he wrapped his arms around her..
Shehnaaz got up from his lap and said, “Paani lene gayi aur dawai lena bhul gayi.. Ruk, abhi aayi..” said Shehnaaz and handed his night wear to him.. “Tu kapde change kar le, mai dawai leti hu.. Fir balcony me baithenge..” said Shehnaaz and he agreed..
Sidharth went to take a warm shower.. Shehnaaz opened the pouch of her medicines.. There were 2 Vitamin tablets which had got over.. “Ab kya karu? 2 dawai khatam ho gayi hai.. Sidharth ko bolungi toh bhadak jaega…” thought Shehnaaz to herself..
Sidharth had an amazing shower.. His muscles relaxed as the warm water fell on his body.. He washed the oil off his hair and came out with a towel wrapped around his waist and one towel around his neck..
He saw that Shehnaaz was sitting with the pouch of medicines.. She knew how extra careful he had become in the last few days.. She didn’t know why but she was scared that he will get angry..
“Kya hua? Abhi bhi dawai hi le rahi hai kya?” asked Sidharth.. Shehnaaz had taken the medicine which was with her.. She didn’t know what to tell him.. “Haa, leli hu..” said Shehnaaz.. “Lekin..” She said this so soflty that he couldn’t listen to it..
He came close to her and handed the towel which was around his neck and she dried his hair and upper body.. She was surprisingly silent all of a sudden and she looked lost too..
“Kya hua hai Baby?” asked Sidharth.. He thought she was thinking about Kamla Tai’s family..
He took the towel from her hand and kept it aside… He then took her in his arms and cupped her face with his hand.. “Shehnaaz, kya hua hai?” asked Sidharth, his voice sounded different..
Shehnaaz didn’t say anything.. “Mujhe ab dar lag raha hai.. Please bol de kya hua??” asked Sidharth, concern was visible in his eyes..
“Kuch nai Sidharth.. Maine sachi dawai leli..” blurted out Shehnaaz..
“Ha, toh maine kab bola ki tune nai li? Why are you so scared? Mai khaa thodi jaunga tujhe..” said Sidhaarth and Shehnaaz got out of his arms..
Sidharth felt suspicious thinking why she said that she has taken the medicine.. He grabbed the pouch of her medicines and saw that two vitamin strips were missing.. “Iski raat ki 3 medicines hai.. Yaha ek hi dikh rahi hai…” thought Sidharth to himself..
He quickly wore his shorts and tshirt and looked out for Shehnaaz who was not around.. “Ab ye kaha chali gayi hai?” he thought.. As he turned around, he saw her coming out of the bathroom..
“Shehnaaz, idhar aa..” said Sidharth, his voice was calm and hence, Shehnaaz walked towards him.. “Tune saari dawai li hai?” asked Sidharth and Shehnaaz didn’t look at him..
“Mai kuch puch raha hu Shehnaaz..” now he sounded a little pissed off..
“Sidharth. Wo..” She murmured and stopped again.. “Mai janta hu mera naam Sidharth hai.. Sawal ka jawab do..” said Sidharth..
She looked at him with welled up eyes.. “Dekh kya rahi ho? Bolo? Li ya nai?” asked Sidharth…
“Wo mai.. Lene gayi thi.. Ek hi dawai bachi thi.. Mai.. Sorry Sidharth..” said Shehnaaz..
“Tum samjhti kyu nai ho? Kya kaam hai tumko? Dawai khatam hui itna batana hai bas.. Ye lockdown me ab kaise karenge? Agar tumhari tabiyat ko kuch hua toh? Tumko sochna nai hota? Han? Yaha mai subhe shaam tumhari health ke bare me soch raha hu aur tum ek choti si baat ka dhyan nai rakh sakti..” scoffed Sidharth and Shehnaaz burst into tears..
“Sidharth, tune bola tha..” said Shehnaaz but he cut her off.. “Meri baato ka tumko dhyan kaha rehta hai.. Ab kaise karenge? Ab tumko kuch ho gaya toh? Malum tha na lockdown ka.. Shehnaaz, ek hi baat ka toh dhyan rakhna hai.. Baaki sab mai kar to raha hu..” said Sidharth and continued his lecture..
He had told Shehnaaz that he will get the medicines once they will reach India. But the family met, Mom left for Didi’s place and they fell asleep also because of the jetlag and he forgot..
“Sidharth, meri baat toh sun..” said Shehnaaz and he looked at her, “Haa, bas tumhari sunu.. Tum kisi ki mat sunna..” blurted out Sidharth…
“Tu ab zyada bol raha hai.. Tu hi bola tha India aake le lenge medicine.. Tune Adith ko shayad call bhi kiya tha jab wo saman rakh ke bahar gaya tha..” said Shehnaaz..
“Lockdown malum hai na?” Sidharth asked in a sarcastic tone..
“Tujhe nai pata, essentials me dawai bhi aati hai? khud ka dimag kharab ho rakha hai mujhe bol raha hai..” scoffed Shehnaaz..
Thankfully, Adith had already got the medicines but he forgot it in the car.. He had to go home because of the lockdown so he left the medicine in the car..
“Mai aata hu..” said Sidharth.. He called Adith and he told him that the medicines were in the car so he was going down to get it..
“Jaa, jaha bhi jana hai..” Scoffed Shehnaaz and Sidharth knew he will have to coax her..
“Isko pata tha Adith car me chora hai dawai toh gadhi aise dar kyu rahi thi..” thought Sidharth to himself while he was walking towards the car..
Shehnaaz heated water and made warm lemonade with honey for herself and was sitting on the cushioned bed in their balcony..
She had her airpods and was listening to music.. Her eyes were moist.. She didn’t know what wrong she did.. She didn’t know why he panicked and lost his logic.. She was worried for him.. “Iska logic toh hamesha on point hota hai.. Abhi kuch chal raha hai kya uske dimag me jo wo bata nahi raha..” thought Shehnaaz to herself..
She was scrolling down her phone and read a quote which read.. Men hide their emotions well.. She felt he was hiding something from her.. She didn’t question him..
She saw him coming with the medicine and a bottle of water.. He gave it to her and stood there.. She took the two medicines and kept the bottle next to her.. “Waha kyu khada hai? Idhar Aa.. Tujhe Godi me letna tha na..” said Shehnaaz, holding his hand and pulling him towards her..
“Oh, I’m sorry baby.. Mai pareshan ho gaya tha.. Mere dimag me ajeeb khayal Aa rahe the.. Samjh ke bahar tha.. Mai react kar diya aise.. Teri health kk leke Mai koi compromise nai kar sakta..” said Sidharth..
“Sidharth, mai thik hu.. Tujhe ye samjhna hoga, mujhe kuch hua nai hai.. Idhar Aa. Fir Baat kar..” said Shehnaaz and he lay on her lap, snuggling into her tummy..
“Shehnaaz, tujhe kuch hua nai hai.. Lekin tu apni dawai time pe legi.. Vitamins kam hai teri body me.. Mai nai chahta tujhe chota sa bhi problem ho.. Isliye pareshan ho jata hu..” said Sidharth..
“Ab shant ho Jaa.. Mil gayi hai dawai.. Sab thik hai..” said Shehnaaz.. “Gadhi, tu dari kyu?” asked Sidharth..
“Tera abhi ka behavior dekh ke dar lag gaya.. Tu itna aaj kal Pagal ho jata hai agar meri health se related kuch hota hai toh.. Mai pata nai kyu dar gayi.. Samjh nai aaya.. Achanak..” said Shehnaaz..
“Hadh hai.. Kasam se..” said Sidharth, snuggling deeper into her.. “Hadh tera hai.. Fikar itna kar raha hai ke logic samjh hi nahi aa raha hai tujhe..” said Shehnaaz..
He bit her waist and she gasped.. “Kutte. Kya kar raha hai.” Whined Shehnaaz.. rubbing her waist.. He kept her hand aside and sucked the part where he bit..
Her breaths turned high and she pulled his hair.. “Sidhhaaarrthh.” She took his name which sounded more like a husky whisper which turned him on even more..
“Fuck, yoh don’t realize what you do to me baby..” Said Sidharth, coming out of her waist.. He undressed both of them and lifted her in his arms.. “I am apologizing abhi se.. I want you baby..” said Sidharth and dig his face in her chest, taking one of her twins in between his teeth..
