After a days job, hanging out in a party wasn't a bad idea. So after hugging Rachael goodbye and taking the different direction, and after eating her lunch and having a shower, Lydia put on her best party outfit and went back to the beach.
Lydia wasn't the gown girl, she admired them on other people but preferred hot tight pants. So she wore a pair of trousers and satin top, did her hair neat pretty ponytail, took her brown purse and didn't forgot to put on a light perfume.
The beach wasn't like how it was earlier in the morning, it was filled up with people and loud metallic music was playing. It felt alive.
Lights, colors, games. And she sighted Brian , who also saw her and she approached him."You made it!" Lydia turned to her left to see an excited Rachael running towards her. Rachael hugged her tightly. "I thought you wouldn't come" she let out a bright smile that complimented her yellow dress. Now why the sight of a yellow gown make her feel like puking? - Oh the yellow soup.
"I'm happy you're here. Now let the party begin!" Brian pulled their arm and hurried them to the center of the dance floor. He hurried to where the mic was hanging lazily and spoke into it; "hey everyone... Everyone. Can I have your attention?"
Everyone stopped dancing and the loud music was reduced to at least aid their hearing. Lydia listened closely as Rachael stood beside her.
"Uhm.... I don't know where to start, haven't done this before. Of course thanks everyone for coming for my birthday party, I really appreciate". So this was a birthday party? Lydia thought to herself as she continued listening to what he was saying; "Thanks Lydia. Everyone meet Lydia, she's new to the environment, make her feel at home". He pointed towards her and everyone about turned to look at her. "So..." they all took their focus back to him; "Let the party begin!" They all cheered and the loud music turned up again.
Rachael was dancing freely and smiling and Lydia could notice her eyes twinkle. She was a pretty girl no doubt, and Lydia was starting to get fond of her. Her short yellow gown made her legs pretty and was a good fit to her. She watched as Rachael grabbed her hands and they danced together with the crowd.
"Hey we're playing a game at the back, wanna join?!" Rachael and Lydia looked up to see a tall guy trying to talk to them from the loud music and cheering crowd. Lydia recognized him to be one of Brian's minions.
"Yeah, great" she said as they left the dance floor.
It was a volleyball game. People were organizing it when the three of them joined.
"You brought them, good choice, now we're complete" another Brian minions said.
"Choose a team" Brian walked up to them, looking like a prince charming.
"Happy birthday" Lydia said smiling.
"Thanks" Brian didn't thank her immediately, to her it seemed like he was studying her or contemplating whether or not to say thanks. "So there are two teams. My team, of course, the birthday boy's team and that team" he pointed at a guy talking to four people. "So which one will it be?" Brian asked, sounding dramatic.
Lydia laughed; "your team of course"
"Me too" Rachael chipped in and left them to join the others.
"You,my friend, has made a good choice. Ok guys, let's begin!" Brian approached the field.
After ten minutes, Lydia understand the hang of the game. Her team was on the wining side and the other team couldn't help but be frustrated. She was enjoying the victory, then something happened. Brian who has been the only one throwing and catching the ball for them and also the one giving them their game strategy, happened to be running for the ball as it flew over the net and got knocked down by another guy. It was funny at first, but later it became serious. He's knees where hurting and he had to be given ice from the drink cooler to massage the injury.
