"to the white house everyone. The investigation is still going on" a fat officer announced to Lydia and every other person that had been interrogated.

Lydia had no idea what they were calling the white house, she'd never heard of that before, except for the one at Washington DC, which was miles away, but she followed them notwithstanding.

She looked on to see a building at the far end of the beach materialize. As they approached it, she knew that must be the white house. But it wasn't white, or looking chic as she thought it would in her mind. It was, with all honesty, an uncompleted building. She entered inside the warm building, noticing the white brick walls. It must be the brick walls that gave out the name.

She entered the warm room, hugging herself and very angry. I shouldn't have come to this party. She regretted it now. Oh God! What have I gotten myself into? She looked up at the white brick walls. I'd have been at my hotel room enjoying the industrial AC or - she thought, holding herself tightly as the wind blew - enjoying this cool weather and night breeze. She sighed and looked around till her eyes caught hold of Rachael who surprisingly, removed her stare from Lydia immediately.

Lydia sighed again. Great, now Eric has succeeded in making everyone suspect me.

No doubt, everyone who noticed her turmoil in the bar with Eric, were all scared of her and thinking she had something - if not everything - to do with the disappearance of Brian. Brian where are you? Lydia couldn't help but ask herself. She couldn't think of plausible answer to that question; he couldn't have left his own birthday party without notifying any one, he can't just bail, even if it was for an important reason without letting even her know about it, secondly, he couldn't be kidnapped, right?

She felt stupid. She was a stranger and new to this place. How could she let everyone know she was the last person with Brian? She groaned. She couldn't blame them for buying what Eric said and suspecting her, she'd have done the same, considering the fact that she was only new and a stranger to this area and was the last person with Brian. But how she longed to reach out to them and let them know Eric was wrong and she wasn't lying. She felt helpless.
