It was finally time.
I was staring out into the vast horizon of the Kingdom of Sea, Sienna sleeping behind me. She had insisted on staying here one more night before she left for the Kingdom of Mud and I left for the Summer Palace, but I couldn't help it. I had been trapped in the Sky Kingdom for a few days without water to swim in, and I had been in the Kingdom of Sand for one day, but that was worse.
I was finally here, and I had to wait another night? Come on! That was just not fair.
I glanced back at the silhouette of the sleeping MudWing beside me. Then I glanced back into the ocean, wishing I could see one of my kind . . .
A face popped out of the ocean, and it looked surprisingly delighted to see me.
"Hey, Orca! You're back!" Said the SeaWing. I gasped.
"Humpback? What - ?"
"I saw two shapes flying in the nighttime and then I saw them land. I saw the bigger shape go to sleep and I saw a smaller one go to the edge of the water and sit down. You looked like you were thinking about something."
"I was actually thinking about going to the ocean, but I couldn't leave Sienna, besides, I could get caught again or something - "
"Wait, Sienna is a MudWing name." Humpback said. He was clearly startled when I nodded and explained to him what happened.
"That's awesome. I can tell why you were afraid to leave her. She sounds scary though."
"Well yeah, but you wouldn't think she was scary if you saw her gentle side."
"Orca? Who are you talking to?"
"Oh, sorry to wake you Sienna. I'm talking to my brother, Humpback. Don't worry about him."
"Okay. Nice to meet you, Humpback. I'm Sienna." The MudWing walked up and bowed to Humpback. My brother nodded and smiled.
"By the way, Orca killed someone." Sienna said.
"What?!" Humpback yelped. "Orca, you didn't fill me in on that! What happened? I want details this time!"
I laughed. It was good to be back.
The next day, I waved to Sienna as she flew away to the Kingdom of Mud. Humpback and I dove into the ocean, ready to see Queen Coral.
When we got there, my mother greeted me and asked me what happened. I left out the part of Sienna, afraid that mother would go track her down and kill her for some unknown reason.
Queen Coral hugged me and told me it that she would protect me, and she called Gill over. He smiled and hugged me as well, thanking Humpback for finding me.
That was the end of that. Now all I needed to do was find two things for Humpback.
