*Flashback (Deku's POV) *
I've been trying to do a lot more research in my family's lineage. I know from Dr. Ujiko that my father has some sort of connection with All for One, and maybe if I can find that out, I can get closer to finding out All for One's endgame. However, the more I searched, the more confused I got. I remember my mom telling me that my father had a fire breathing quirk, and from Auntie, I knew that his name was Hisashi Midoriya. But... Hasashi Midoriya... doesn't exist. No dental records or medical files, no bank accounts or registrations in the quirk registrations office. Literally nothing. What's even more confusing is that there was a person that was registered with a fire breathing quirk, which matched the description I remember my mom had given. But he lived almost one hundred and twenty years ago. And his name was 'Shiashi Greene'. He lived in America, but moved to Japan when he was young. There was no cause of death either, which made me even more suspicious. Even the name Midoriya has been untraceable. It's almost as if it didn't exist until my mom got married. I haven't told anyone about my research, not even AllMight. Well, apart from Nana, who used her expertise in computer science to help me try and find this information. Between hacking the databases of the safety commisions and general internet searches I have found absolutely nothing.
Auntie had started inviting me for dinner every so often. Ever since mom died, we have definitely gotten closer, I even accidentally called her mom once, as I was leaving for the door, I just let it slip. Kachan was not best pleased with that, but he doesn't seem to be happy with anything I'm doing these days. Luckily she didn't hear me. I've tried asking her about my father, but she only knows so much. She knows that he was a pretty secretive man. But she did provide some helpful information when it came to my mom. Apparently, mom was adopted at a young age, and her adopted parents stopped speaking to her after her marriage with my father. There wasn't much chance I was getting any information from them, as I didn't know their names and I don't think they even know I existed. However, I started to theorize something. The fact that my mom's mother was Nana Shimura. I thought about it some more, and it makes perfect sense. The quirks were quite similar, they both involved floating things. They both look alike. As AllMight said, my mom looked a lot like his master. The fact that mom was adopted, and Nana gave her children up for adoption. It made me even more suspicious. I know that this is just a theory with very little solid evidence, but I needed to ask her,
"Nana? Are you there?"
"Yeah, Izu. What do you need?"
"I know... family is a bit of a touchy subject... but I just need to know. How many children did you have?"
"Ermm, I had two. One boy and one girl."
"What... did you name your daughter?"
"Inko, I named her after my grandmother," I felt a whole shiver go down my body. I could see Nana starting to tear up talking about her family, but I think she noticed I was stressed too. "Izuku? What's wrong?"
"Do you know what my mom's name was?" it takes a few seconds for her to realize what I was thinking about. A heavy stream of tears came down both of our faces.
*End of flashback (Ochaco's POV) *
"So, yeah. That's kind of how I realized that she was my grandmother. To this day, I don't even know why either of us just started crying but we just spent about five minutes just crying together." He says with a bit of a chuckle.
"It must be a family thing." I say as he cuddles me closer to him. "What a coincidence, huh? You and your grandmother were both One for All users." I say while nuzzling further into my boyfriend's chest. He wrapped his arms around me making me feel really warm. "It's weird that there wasn't any information on your father though."
*Deku's POV*
It's Monday morning and 6.15 am. My night on patrol was pretty busy, and some big revelations were made. I still didn't know how I felt about it all. And I didn't want to tell anyone because they might think differently about me. I... just felt unsure of a few things.
I stroll into class and see most of my friends already there. I quietly sit down on my own and observe everyone before me. Iida was talking with Tsu, Ochaco and Todoroki. Momo was with the rest of the girls, and the boys were filtered in other smaller groups. The only other person who was siting alone was Kachan, and he's been even more angry since he got home from the beach the other day. Not sure why, or what exactly happened for him to be even more angstier, but he didn't even turn up for training with AllMight yesterday. I was so deep in thought about what happened yesterday, I hadn't realized that my teacher had already entered the room and was shouting my name,
"Midoriya!" Mr. Aizawa says in a louder voice then the one he normally uses. My head jolts up from the laid down position it was in as I was quickly trying to respond,
"Sorry, what was that sensei?" I spoke. I hear a couple of giggles coming from the room, I guess I was a bit abrupt with that.
"Have you seen the billboard charts update?"
"Errm... no?" I say, pondering why he was asking me this. He stares at me as if he were anticipating me to do something... oh right, he probably wants me to check the charts. I grab my phone and start scrolling through the app I have downloaded, trying to look for something that might grab my attention. Scroll, scroll, nothing... oh... oh... OH!
"Errmm, uhhm... I-I- d-don't know wh-wha tt-t to say."
"You deserve it." Mr. Aizawa tells me.
"I don't understand sensei, what does Midoriya deserve?" my red head friend asks,
"Midoriya has a ranking on the charts. He's placed in the thirty ninth spot." I hear a wave of gasps from my friends before they all get up to congratulate. I was still in shock, I read over my name again and again just to make sure. But it didn't change. My hero name and picture were still there. I really did it. Although, they could have used a better photo for my profile.
"Deku, I'm so proud of you," I feel a warm, familiar pair of hands pull me into a hug. It takes me a few seconds to react to Ochaco's hug, but when I do I see Nana's spirit in front of me.
"I'm proud of you too, Izuku. I know your mom would be proud too." I smile, and she returns with one of her own. The rest of my classmates have pulled out their own phones and were reporting some information back to me,
"Wow, you have a crazy number of followers. Your approval rating is so much higher than the other heroes."
"Yeah, it says here that there was some blog post put out a few days ago that catapulted your popularity. Pair that with the number of jobs you've done, wow! You really are amazing Midoriya."
"I'm reading this blog post; it's praising you really highly. Wow, it says here that you walked the writer of the blog home to make sure she was safe. That's some really manly stuff Midobro."
"Alright, back in your seats. I have an announcement to make before lessons begin."
The rest of the day was pretty exciting. We had another session of mock interviews with Mt. Lady, and I always enjoy those. Kachan however, didn't enjoy it as much. As per usual, my friend generally likes to keep to himself and the questions Mt. Lady asked only seemed to anger him. I really should talk to him; he's been angrier than ever before. I though we were getting somewhere after we had that fight, but we're taking a few stepsbackwards. Everything I do, seems to aggravate him. It's to the point where I'm really worried for him.
