Brayden
How could I possibly cause Willow more pain? It was already enough that I hadn't protected her from the rogue. I was weak and she had seen it and decided to protect me before I had the chance to protect her. Had she not thought about the fact it didn't matter if you found or had a mate anyone could mark you? "Brayden, we need to do this sooner rather than later. I know you wanted to wait until she was ready and the time was right, but unfortunately it is now or never." The Dr. told me in all seriousness. I wondered if Willow could hear me. If she could she probably knows that this is not an easy situation for me to be in. I wanted to make her marking as comfortable as possible to make it the least bit painful, but here I am having no choice but to remark on her wolfsbane infected marking from the rogue wolf.
"Brayden, are you with me?" The Doctor was staring at me intently. I hadn't noticed that I had disappeared in my thoughts. I do not know if I will ever forgive myself for what had happened. "I am here, Doctor. I am just trying to go through my thoughts before I have to be precise." I told him without hesitation. "Well then let's get to it shall we before her parents decide to ruin the chance of uniting the royal packs." What had he just said? Were Willow's parents thinking about breaking the treaty and letting their daughter find her fated mate within her own pack? "They can't do that!" I got upset and started to lose my concentrated thoughts that kept me calm before. I was trying to think about saving Willow from the pain I already caused her.
"Boy, you better not get angry now because if you do you could lose your chances at both being with Willow and seeing Willow awake again." The doctor was trying to calm me with fear, and that was just enough for me to stop everything and return back to my train of thought. "Alright, let us get down to business. Brayden, I need you to shift to your wolf form quietly and do exactly as I say. Do not by any means let your wolf instincts take control of the marking. We need this to be as clean and precise as possible." The Doctor explained hurriedly. "I will trust you." I told him with courage because I knew that if I wanted to see Willow awake again, I would have to do exactly as he says. I turned and looked at Willow laying on the gurney as still as the air was silent. I set my focus on her as I started shifting. I felt myself shift into my strong wolf form and immediately felt the instincts kick in. I wanted to rip the rouge to shreds again and again. "Brayden!" The doctor said loudly. I quickly turned my head towards him trying to focus.
The doctor was prepping a bunch of needles and syringes to extract the wolf's bane from the wound as soon as I reopened it of course. I was scared yet but very determined to make sure that I got this done correctly. "Okay, Brayden. I want you to put your paws right where I marked the gurney with the tape. Here and here," the doctor pointed at one spot and then the next. I was ready to have my big wolf paws in the assigned positions. "Now we only have one chance at this otherwise the wolf's bane will be throughout her system and her body will begin failing," The Doctor said finally setting all of his equipment within reach as he made sure he had anything he could think of if this went wrong.
I stood with my paws on the tape waiting for the doctor to give me the command. The doctor turned toward me, "I will help guide your mouth where it needs to be, but you have to do me a favor and not bite me okay. I know how irritated you may have been at me earlier, but I am trying to help." Was the pack doctor really scared of a wolf bite in his human form? Wow, some of us aren't as strong as others. "Brayden, open as wide as you can." I opened my jaw as wide as possible. "Good, now keep it open wide as I move you into the right positioning." The doctor grabbed my jaw and rotated it into the correct angle overlooking Willow's shoulder wound to make sure it was the right spot. I couldn't bear to look at Willow because I knew this was going to be painful. I felt my teeth against her skin awaiting my orders from the doctor.
"I believe I have it set in the right positioning or close to it. This would have been easier if she had stayed in wolf form after she got hurt." I felt the doctor making his final tweaks to my jaw placement aligning my teeth perfectly with her wound. "I want you to bite down as hard and with as much force as possible but slowly to keep the alignment." This would not be easy. My teeth against her skin and the smell of lavender and honey ever so sweet overwhelming my nose from being so close to her. I took a breath in and started slowly progressing my jaw to close. I am so sorry, my love. I wish she could hear me. I started tasting blood as my teeth dug into her skin further. Why is this hurting me more than it is hurting her? At least I hope I am in more pain than she is- "I am inserting needles now so go slow and keep the pressure there it will allow the wolf's bane to come to the surface, the way it came in." The doctor interrupted my thoughts and I slowly continued to apply pressure as the blood continued to fill my mouth. Even her blood was sweet but I could smell the wolf's bane. It must be starting to work because the wolf's bane was coming out. I looked at the Doctor as he filled syringes with the wolf's bane that was in Willow's system. "You are doing great, Brayden. I should have almost all of it out, so I am going to let you finish your mark. Then I will put peroxide on it and that should bring the rest of the wolfs bane out."
